The slide locking bolt stick up about 3/4". In my opinion this is excessive

It's an adjustable bracket! What can one say that the picture doesn't? Standard steel (I think) with a good coating on it that should prevent scratching your radio or whatever your mounting. Comes with nuts and bolts so you're good to go! 6-10" adjustability as described.You can overlap the pieces and mount a slightly smaller radio if desired. It actually comes in the package with bolts in place down to 5.25" internal width without overlapping. The vertical end slots for the radio mount studs/screws are 2", leaving a 1/4" space at the top for bolt heads (or nuts if you invert them and trim the bolt down to the last thread needed). Bracket ends will bend when cranked down if you need to make it narrower for a smaller radio.

Too big

This bracket can be used for a car radio or cb radio or even car speaker or even a pressure gauge mount. I use it for a small cb speaker external mount and it works perfect. It is adjustable to fit different sizes.Great mount.
