I needed this tool before the water heater installation. Thanks to it I have figured out that water pressure hits up to 80 psi during nighttime. Daytime pressure was ok and below 60psi. Red arrow helps you catch highest pressure in pipes and make corresponding conclusion do you need to install pressure reduction or not. It is made well for home use and has a good price for such quality.

Great.The "teflon tape" that is included is definitely not teflon tape. Throw it away.

I ordered this gauge as part of my water heater expansion tank installation, with the thought to plumb the gauge in permanently. I looked for a nice-looking gauge with a 0 - 200 psi range so I could get a meaningful max pressure reading if the expansion tank were to fail. A max of 200 would give a little slack above where the water heater T&P valve opened up. This is a nice looking gauge which seems to agree in accuracy with other pressure gauges I've tested it against. "Yes" to all of those who wonder whether this gauge can be permanently attached. But... read on for details.When I ordered the Carbo gauge, I assumed that the actual gauge threads were 1/4" NPT and that I could simply remove the garden hose adapter with a wrench and Channellocks. I was right in the thread assumption, but the hose adapter was a bear to remove. I finally got the hose adapter off with the Channellocks, though it was seriously mangled in the end. I felt fortunate to finally get it off -- one of the other reviewers resorted to the hacksaw!As to rating, I had intended to rate the Carbo gauge a 2-3, because the red high pressure drag pointer, which as other reviewers pointed out, flops around so much that it's impossible to get a dependable max pressure reading. In reading other reviews, one clever person reported putting a bit of Teflon tape under the knob. I decided to wrap and tie two turns of dental floss between knob and lens. Makes the max-pressure feature work like a champ! Brought the rating up to a '4'.

Gauge is simple to use and gives a quick way to check your code requirements. I ordered this and got it in 2 days, however the unit I received was damaged. I contacted the mfr and had a replacement unit in 2 days. Worked great, did not give the answer I wanted... My builder installed a 50 PSI Pressure Relief Valve at the water meter. Checking at the house I found it was actually delivering 120psi!!! Called the water department and they confirmed they deliver 110-120 psi to the meter, and the builder is responsible for meter to the home. Contacted the builder and he sent out the plumber to actually adjust the PRV to the right pressure (seems it was installed but never adjusted).... So thanks to this very simple gauge my pipes wont be blown out!!
