SAN LIKESuper Strong Boat Hook with Luminous Bead

I bought this to move cargo around in my truck bed without having to climb in or open my bed cover. it works absolutely perfect for this application. I know it wasn't made for this use but it does work better than other hooks made for the use. it extends easy for reaching all the way to the front of the bed, and collapses for easy storage.

I just bought this and the last section (closet to the hook) does not lock! It's the thin metal section that slides into the 2nd section that does lock. There is not even a tightening ring or grip to make it lock. You can't use it to PULL the boat to the dock then when it gets too close to PUSH the boat away without it collapsing. I didn't take it out of the box to try for month since it was too cold outside, now I'm past my return time. Useless for me.

There is no way I see to lock in the first section. Someone said that if you spin it the opposite the way of the second section, it would lock, but you can not spin the first section as it is hexagon shaped in the plastic end cap fitting, with 2 pop rivets setting the plastic end cap for the first section, with no way to screw the first section down like the next two. If there is a way to do it, and I'm missing it, well, it would be nice for them to put out a small video and show first that it can be locked, and second what you would have to do to lock it. In my opinion this hook should have the screw type fittings on all 3 sections and not just the end 2. Not too happy with the first section not locking.

While out on the river last weekend, I pulled up to the dock to take out and the grab bar separated while I tried to pull it in to the dock. This resulted in the river's current taking my boat and more importantly, my skeg into some rocks. Ouch! My skeg and propeller now need to be fixed.It would be much smarter to offer these grabber handles as fixed pieces not telescope. Most people's boats are long enough to accommodate a six or eight foot pole along the side of the boat where you keep your fishing poles... Just saying

I am using this to pull my pontoon closer to my dock when paring. We basically have to parallel park our pontoon at our dock (between our other boat and the end of the dock where there are rocks. Using this as a tool to pull the boat may not be what it was intended for. the hook on the end is hard plastic but can not handle a lot of pressure without breaking. I am sure its great for grabbing a rope but using it to pull your boat closer put too much stress on the hook part. Upon getting the second one, I put duct tape around the hook to create a stronger hook. It has worked great since.

This product is not very sturdy! The hook screws on and does not tighten well. The thinnest extension does not have a tension ring, the others don't have enough tension, as a result the pole collapses if you try to use it to push off. The only thing this product has going for it, is it's compact size. I will be keeping it solely for this reason, as others are too long to store in my 18' ski boat. It may be worth 10 dollars, but....

We thought the tip was a light, but it only glowed a little. So it didn't offer any light; although you could see the tip. It was difficult to adjust - took too long. And you need to adjust it quickly and have it ready to use as you approach the dock. We bought another product that works better.

My boat is Aluminum and only 16'x6', but when landing it in heavy winds, my old Aluminum landing pole would bend and slip. This one does the trick for landing, and I can only assume it will be able to handle/assist larger boats in an emergency.

Decent value

Has not yet been used due to the pandemic lockdown in my province but anticipating it will work well.

The extensions collapse. They are not built to stay extended. Waste of money.

I am an arborist and I use this as a rope poke. Works great, and love that it’s telescopic.I’m hard on equipment so, when i break it I’ll buy another.
