Perfect fit for an old Stratocaster I and a luthier friend are rebuilding from the body up.
Much of my guitar playing (I got my union card at age 15 in 1963 & have played in bands & studios) has been on my beloved Stratocasters. I have a '64 Sunburst which I can't take out of the house as that year's model with full original case & accessories is now going at auction for up to $40,000!!!! I have two others at the moment, one that has custom-wound pickups & wiring by Lindy Fralin & one from the mid-90s that is my everyday guitar. A luthier friend was so impressed with its extraordinary playability, though it's tone is nowhere near the equal to my '64 or my Fralin custom, talked me into giving him the guitar for a ground-up remake to bring it up to - or beyond - Fender Custom Shop guitars. Since one of my all-time influences in guitar playing has always been Jeff Beck, who plays, like I usually do, with finger-picking and constantly plays with the whammy bar in hand, this is a critical element of my own style. The Fender bar is still the best for my style & with all of the metric threaded bars out there (even for a number of the Fender/Squier Strats, it's great to find one of the proper threading as even a slight difference that at first seems correct (like the bar on the Mexican Strats) will wear with time.

This arm is for Stratocasters with 2 point bridges (2 screws, not 6)
I play an American Standard Strat, manufactured in the year 2000. The guitar is equipped with the two point (two screw) bridge, with the block bridge pieces. According to 3 days of my own research (and zero help from Fender, by the way...), I determined that this was the correct bridge, because Fender also makes an almost identical trem arm for Vintage Strats, which come with the six point (six - screw) older style bridge, with the rolled steel bridge pieces. There is also a Mexican Strat trem arm which also looks very similar, but is too big in diameter to fit the American Standard bridge. Upon receipt of this arm, it fit beautifully. It came with a bright white knob, and a off-white, kind of eggshell color knob, to fit with vintage style pickguards and volume and tone knobs. It is threaded, and so it screws on and off. It is meant to be installed with a trem arm spring, to keep it in place, as sometimes it can be screwed in, and have enough play to make noise, and the trem spring is designed to hold it in place. Not strictly necessary though.TO ENSURE THIS TREMELO ARM WILL FIT, CONFIRM THAT:+ You have an AMERICAN standard strat+ The bridge should be the STANDARD type, with block bridge pieces, and two screws. (See included picture #1)+ The hole for the trem arm should be threaded, as this arm screws inTHIS TREMELO ARM WILL NOT FIT:- MEXICAN made strats (threaded for a larger diameter trem arm)- AMERICAN DELUXE strats*- AMERICAN ELITE series strats*- AMERICAN CLASSIC series strats*- ANY STRAT with a 6-Screw (Vintage) bridge. (See included picture #2)*6-screw bridge is installed by default.

Fit my 1982 Strat perfectly
I somehow misplaced the 40+ year old whammy bar for my '82 Strat, but this fits perfectly. And the spare plastic tip (comes with one white, one parchment) is a nice throw-in, in case I ever change the pickup housings. Just get it. If it fits the '80s models, I'l sure it will work in the more recent tremolo assemblies.

Exactly as stated.
This is a 5mm thread. I needed 6mm but it was my mistake. Part is as described so I'm giving 5 stars

Poor product description
Poorly written product description led to a product being purchased that does not fit my guitar. It's the one with the bridge that has 6 not 2 screws. Other reviewers pointed this out, but I only saw that after buying. You could say buyer beware, but I think the onus is on the seller to make it clear what the heck they are selling. I will refrain from commenting on which one is the right one because unfortunately I have no idea which of the clones of this tremolo bar *is* the right one. I'm just going to bring the guitar to a local music store and hopefully they can tell me. I'll be returning this one to Amazon.
