Works!
The media could not be loaded. Soldering will be needed but does as expected. Have yet to try it with a rgb strip, but im pretty sure it will work since I have a pcb that just uses a single transister to run it. I'm using the WS2812FX library to do the animations. To power the board it can take at most 5 volts. I'm using a micro usb module where I cut the data traces with a blade and powering it through a wall charger. I also have a another one where I attached a DC female input.

also good for tx-only esp projects
I have a lot of projects where I need the esp chip to send stuff over uart serial. normally you'd use the real tx line (and have the rx available to you, too), but this yellow wire is on gpio2 and that's not the tx line.however! instead of using Serial.begin(9600) you use Serial1.begin(9600)then, you use Serial1.println() and all serial sends will go out the yellow wire. this is the so-called 'half uart' that is on the esp, as the 2nd port.I have a lot of clock projects that need to receive time updates and I do that over serial with this board.if you use the esp01s (must be 's') then you'll have enough flash to be able to support OTA updates.what I dont like: only 1 screw hole, but at least there's one. some boards dont have any at all (boggle..)

They do one job well.
These little adapter boards did exactly as expected. They tie easily to addressable pixel strips and are the kind of no frills hokuo I was hoping for.

Excellent little Boards!
These little boards are great for controlling the smart led strips with the ESP-01.
