Let me start by saying my mother owns one of these computers, which is what motivated me to buy one for school, because they are great computers: fast with a lot of storage.However. This company uses a 3rd party to ship their items.So although the computer itself is amazing(I know from my mother's computer), their choice of shipping leaves a whole lot to chance.The seller is very quick to respond, however, they will only tell you that they are insured through Amazon and will not actually replace computer if FedEx ends up losing it. You will then have to go through a long process to file your claim, wait a week for processing the claim, only to end up with a committee who decides if your claim holds water before they refund you.My experience definitely caused me stress.If you have an option, try to use a company that actually uses Amazon to ship their items. Amazon has always been great about resolving issues and quickly sending a replacement if needed. They also take a picture when it's delivered which leaves way less chance for the item to turn up missing-especially one as valuable as a computer.

Update: since my last review, every usb port has failed and not functioning and then 3 days ago, I can only surmise that the video card is shot and has failed. Systematically, the computer i thought so magnificent is a piece of crap and is vados at the end of its usefulness but i an curious as to where the components were salvaged from, exactly how old, condition and quality they were... When asked... it was met by crickets. The company that built it holds no warranty of their work aside from the 30 day Amazon rule or you can buy an extended warranty and that's a pile of rubbish and is just blatant greed for which nobody seems to stand up and say "No, that is an unacceptable practice no guarantee, therefore your Shady and I won't purchase from you." Lesson learned, read every detail of the sales agreement. They did however show an interest in trying to resolve an issue when the hard drive coughed the operating system up and needed a reinstall out of the blue... I solved that issue... then when I emailed them about the failing peripherals, Crickets and silence. I am completely at a loss for words and cannot afford another computer purchase!Original review:The back of the computer did not match the exact schematics advertised but all the USB, display and misc. ports were there. Computer came be quickly. The speed is phenomenal, boots faster than I've ever seen and is just an all around solid build. Could not be happier... Well, if Bluetooth and wifi were on-board instead of a USB dongle...

This looks like a good buy. Fastest computer I've ever had. Still working on getting it set up and applications installed. I think this will be very good for quite a while. The shipment was delivered to my door 3 days ahead of the projected delivery date.One thing I discovered though, is that Windows reports that the computer has 8 Logical Processors but really only 4 physical cores.

Following an electrical storm, my desktop computer was DOA. Finding a replacement was herculean. So many options and so many prices.I stumbled upon this refurbished HP and was excited to find so many good reviews for the company and the quality of their work. Well, I concur. My desktop arrived in perfect contition and was amazingly well-packed. In fact, I'd say far better than what the original manufacturer might have sent.The unit is quiet and hums along thus far without incident. The company included a keyboard and mouse, so I decided to hook it up for convenience. I had a great laugh when trying to logon to a system restoration site and I kept receiving "Incorrect password" notices. I turned on the "show password" feature and saw the keyboard was typing the number 3 when it should have been typing the number 8.I've been working with computers since the 1970's and never saw anything like it. It's okay, I went back to using my old keyboard and mouse and the computer works just fine. I just got a giggle out of the key sychronization being off balance.I don't expect any problems and was thrilled to spend half of what I would have in buying a brand new one.

hard drive died soon after receiving

I update my obsolete HP Home Premium Edition Windows 7 with HP Intel Core i7-6700 up to 4.0GHz, 32GB Ram, 1TB Windows 10 and I am really satisfy for the price I paid for it. With assistant and repair they are polite and competent they work until they get it done and their services are nothing compare it with oversees assistant from China or India on my past experiences, I was impressed by the professionalism and quality of their work loaded.

I bought this mainly for photo editing because of the SSD capacity and processor. The unit came covered with dust, grime and what looked like boogers. Despite all of that, I kept it because it functioned well and it was cheap. It served my purpose, but please Amazon, don't send out nasty looking "refurbs" like this any more.

I've only had it three days but 2 initial set-up problems were well resolved by two phone calls: one with Amazon and the other with HP's special Elite 800 section.It did take over 30 minutes to get through to the HP help but I've waited a lot longer for a lot less.

I gave it 4 stars as the shipment was late and I need to go to pickup the parcel. The wifi adapter included the BT feature. The i7-6700 is still a decent processor for less demanding gaming, but glad to have this good computer for office work, watching videos or browsing the internet. Disadvantages are it is not that fast, not for fast gaming, no HDMI port and cannot upgrade to Windows 11. The startup time is around 26 seconds. When startup simply pressed F2 can exit to Bios. I can updated the bios to latest N01_0.260 version under Windows environment (refer to HP.com). I installed programs and HP support assistant (which will auto update latest drivers). Using netplwiz will make the Window auto logon. I successfully boot the system by adding a M.2 nvme 1 TB sn770 to a "PCIE to M.2" adaptor to the pcie slot . This PC acts as my second backup computer & used for my future DIY update projects. You got what you paid for under that price.

good price for all of the specs CoreI7, 32GB, 1TBSSD. using for astro image processing. benchmarks showing x3-x4 times faster than older core I5, 16GB system

First the good. This unit is very fast and has lots of memory. Very good value for the price.The bad? There is definitely no hdmi port. You have to purchase a separate wire to connect a monitor to this unit. Since I bought 4 for business use, this added about $80 to the cost of the units, (approx $20 / wire), plus the time waste of having to hunt these wires down.The units are great otherwise and still worthy of 4 stars for performance and quality.

I bought this in March of 2023 and it is now September, 2023. An initial hard drive issue was quickly resolved and the system has been working perfectly since. Well done people, I'm very pleased with my purchase!

It is working fine and quietly. Barely did I notice that it was running in my office. For the use I have, it is pretty good having this one.Once I don't expect and don't want to use Windows 11, I am OK. The hardware is not ready for Windows 11.
