Jamaican Choice Plantain Flour |14 Oz (2-Pack)

Was a great ingredient in a flour mix that I used to make Banana bread.

This is grain-free, highly nutritive, and doesn't have any particular flavor. It certainly has no "banana" taste. I wish it were cheaper; it sure makes a great Paleo pancake, fritter, or muffin (I mix this with yam flour from the African store to balance texture: the yam flour is very sticky and gelatinous in a mix, while the plantain alone can be stiff). Because both are vegetables, they are acidic (although alkaline in the body!) like pumpkin, molasses, and other acidic baking items: so you will not need baking powder, only the soda. Get some and fool around with it this weekend!

If you do not mind the difference, then by all means buy this as the quality is not bad. But if like me you wanted plantain and not banana, do not waste your time and money. I tried two and both are not plantain but Bananas so I am posting the exact review in both. I guess I’ll keep looking for what I want.

I love this product as a substitute for flour. It is great for people who cannot use grain/wheat products. I have used it to bake a variety of things and it has been a great success.

The flour seems to be good. I've never used plantain flour before so I am not sure what it is supposed to be like. It definitely does not smell that great.
