I thought the book was informative and had good examples. For the most part, I enjoyed the book and I learned a lot. However a couple things bother me about the book. First, it would have been nice if the book offered a template for the International strategy or Entering Foreign Markets chapters. Those two chapters are almost the entire reason that you read the book (previous chapters provide background to those chapters), though Global Mktg and research, and HR are important too. If there was formal evaluation template including online resources (beyond just global edge), it would help tremendously to actually put the ideas in the book to use in the business world. I love online (or in the appendix), additional tools. There are some (Global Edge), but very little. Second, the authors seem to have leftist (politically) opinions and the reader gets the feeling that there are political motivations in some of their writings. This takes away from the credibility of the book leaving me, the reader, always saying "ok, remember that the authors seem to have a heavy slant to the left, so I have to remind myself that this is an opinion". Regardless of whether I agree with them or not, I prefer unbiased views. There is way too much bias on both sides in the news today and would rather not see it in textbooks.

The book was written well and relevant to the material in my course. I truly valued the case studies as an enhancement to my knowledge. What’s frustrating is that they are selling the book at full price, when there is a newer version available. The significance of this is nobody wants to purchase it now that the course is done. If you buy it because your school hasn’t updated their publication to the latest version, be aware it’s yours forever.

Bought this for a graduate school class and found it to be informative and worth the price I paid.
