My 1/48-scale Val dive bomber by Hasagawa is one of the very few Aichi D3A kits available on today's market. Fortunately, it is a very good kit. Unlike most of today's kits, this one does include the aircrew, and the crew-served weapon, i.e., a 30-cal Lewis gun for the real gunner. The detail in the kit is extensive, crisply molded, and well done, interior as well as exterior, and the kit includes markings and suggested paint schemes for several planes. I look forward to building this kit.

This is a perfect example of why Hasegawa is still a giant in modelling: crisp details, clean molds free of ejector marks and sinkholes, clear parts scratch-free and non-distorting, and a beautiful sheet of markings in good register. A worthy addition to a collection of IJN aircraft in 1/48 scale, and at this price one of the best options around. Shipping took just about 3 weeks, despite the 2-month window promised at confirmation.

My grandson received this as a birthday gift.

The box was not factory sealed and there was nothing in the description that stated the box had been opened previously. The box was sealed with 2 pieces of scotch tape. All parts, instructions and decals were in the box.

As another IJN planes, the overall quality is good.Pros: nice cockpit details, firm decals, and options on canopy.Cons: Some problems in assembling body and wings.

This is a great kit. It is highly detailed and a fun build. Buy it.
