This hardwood beech bowl is hand-turned and dried using the same traditional old world methods that were used 150 years ago. Handmade in the USA. These bowls are created using environmentally friendly, non wasteful methods in which virtually no part of the tree goes to waste! Please note: This is a real wood product and will be slightly "out of round" or oval in appearance. Minor wood grain variations will occur in each bowl as this is a natural product. Each beautiful bowl has a different wood grain pattern. No two bowls are alike! Approximate dimensions: - Overall diameter: 12" - Width of rim: 1/2" - 5/8" - Bowl depth: 3-1/2" - Serves 2-4. For more than 4 servings consider the 15″ bowl To clean your wood bowl, just wash with soap and warm water, then rinse and dry immediately. DO NOT allow your wooden bowl to soak in water. Never put wooden bowls in the dishwasher.

Beautiful. Functional. Awesome Bowl
I have had this bowl for a few days and I love it! I bought this because it was smaller than my other big wooden bowl and it's easier to handle. I love this bowl. I have used it to chop onions, celery, salads, nuts and cranberries. Works great! I already had a product to treat/seal my wooden chopping board, so this is what I used to treat the bowl. Once you treat it, your bowl will have a beautiful patina to it. Bowl arrives untreated so once you treat it, you will love it even more. I have used my Alaskan Ulu chopping tool to chop most things. I also have another rocking chopper that works as well. I did think it was pricey, but once I received it, I have no problem with the cost. Well worth the money. I highly recommend this wooden bowl.

PERFECT DOUGH RISING BOWL - I LOVE IT
I bought this bowl to replace my 100 plus year old dough rising bowl (which was dropped and cracked). I finished it with Howard Butcher Block Conditioner, which is use for all my wooden kitchenware. Wooden bowls used for dough rising improve over time because they accumulate and retain yeast spores, and that makes the bread rise fast and perfect every time. Wood is the only material that can do this effectively. I cover the dough with a flour sack dish towel while it rises in the bowl. It makes perfect bread every time. I love it.I bought a couple of 9 inch salad bowls from this company in the recent past and finished them with Howard Butcher Block Conditioner too. They are beautiful and functional. I would highly recommend any of these wooden bowls.

Beautiful. Exactly what I was looking for
I ordered this as a kitchen tool, and it's exactly what I was trying to find. Right size & shape, thick enough to be sturdy, no finish that might be questionable in contact with food. I treated first with just mineral oil, then followed with a mineral oil/bees wax mixture to seal it.

Wonderful for chopped salads, food service or any decorative use!
Was looking for an alternative to a plastic bowl for chopped salads and this is perfect! The first one that I bought was cracked and I sent back with a note about the lack of sufficient packaging. The new one came and is beautiful and perfect for chopped salads or whatever you need. I took the time to seal it with a mineral oil/bees wax and it is so pretty and protected! LOVE IT! Would recommend.

Great Bowl for Chopped Salad
I bought this bowl to make chopped salad and I love it. I have made a salad in it every day since I got it, almost 30 salads, and there are only a few nicks that you can barely see. I seasoned it per the instructions that came with it using food grade mineral oil and I have had a little green staining at the bottom. I don't care since this is the reason I bought the bowl. The bowl still looks beautiful.

Sturdy and beautiful wooden bowl.
Beautiful wood bowl. Wasn't entirely sure how to preserve it but called their customer service and they walked me through what I needed to do. After oiling the grain of the bowl came out really beautifully. I use it to hold my apples and hard fruits. Have a smaller one that I used to make chopped liver. That seemed to retain the smell a bit so had to clean it a little more thoroughly. It's not perfectly round though, more oval in shape for me but that may be due to the fact that it appears to be milled by hand (ie. not factory stamped) from one solid piece of wood.

Beautiful bowl
I’ve been looking for a new wooden chopping bowl for a while. Most are too large & way too pricey. This is perfect & a good price. Cleans easily.

These bowls are beautiful!
I love these bowls, espicially that they are made in the US. I purchased the bowls to make chopped salads with my ulu knife. The fact that they are unfinished makes them perfect for that use. I can think of so many other uses as well - fruit bowl, displays, etc. I purchased the John Taylor Butcher Block Conditioner to condition the bowls, and they are even more beautiful! The conditioner contains mineral oil, beeswax and carnauba wax, is food grade, and prevents drying and cracking, and keeps the moisture out when they are washed. Very pleased with this purchase and considering buying more!
