Romantic
If you're in the mood for a really sappy romantic story, this is it. It starts at the wedding of ODC, and the coupling just never stops. These two are a couple of sexual addicts, and it's hard to imagine they accomplish anything else in the course of a day. Darcy reveals to Elizabeth that he's a virgin, so he's got some catching up to do. Elizabeth is just a plain old nympho, and seems to adopt a new favorite exercise to the exclusion of almost all else.I like this author, her way with words and her imagination. However, not much really happens in this book. The wedding causes a break with Lady Catherine. Elizabeth is bothered by a rake, Lord Orman, who wants revenge on Darcy. Other than that, it's just Lizzy and Darcy learning about each other. It's swoon worthy adoration of each other, but honestly after the first twenty or so bedroom sessions, it gets a little boring.I'm on to the next in this series, but I sure hope there's some drama or suspense or even some humor to spice it up. All this kissing and rubbing gets a little old.

Could have been a good book, but . . .
I really wanted to like this book. Darcy, Elizabeth, Pemberley, what more can you want? Unfortunately, while those three are included, this book is little more than a framework for sex scene after sex scene. I'm not opposed to such scenes, but I think there should be a purpose to the scene in furthering the story or developing the characters. In most instances, in this book, there isn't.This book is a fan fiction, and you can find better for free online. There are errors galore in grammar, punctuation, tense, wrong-word usage, continuity. It's clear, at points, that cuts were made to the original story, but they were done so poorly that it's jarring to the reader. If this were self-published, I wouldn't be nearly as critical; however, this is s traditionally published book and should be better. As much as I normally love Darcy and Elizabeth, I came close to disliking them in this book, Darcy, especially. The man couldn't be away from Elizabeth for any period of time without rushing back to her and hauling her off to bed. He cries at the drop of a hat. Definitely not the Darcy I love.I had to force myself to finish this book and when I got to the last line, my reaction was: that's it? There are better Pride and Prejudice sequels out there. Try Jan Hahn or Cassandra Grafton. I promise you'll find those reads much more satisfying. As for me, I own the other two books in this trilogy. They came highly recommended and had high Amazon ratings, so I bought them. Purchasing them was, I think in retrospect, a mistake. I'm not sure I can bring myself to read them. There are so many good books, why waste time on poorly written ones?

Really? Must we be dragged through one sex scene after another?
I owned this set before and removed it from my library. I had forgotten how this story goes. The story line is okay as it is, but the steamy sex scenes become tedious at best. Perhaps their first encounter would have been okay, but one scene after the other gets tiresome. We get that the couple is passionately in love, but really must we be exposed to so much of it? I would skip this whole series and read something by Leenie Brown or some other P&P variation writer.

Enough of the sex already!
Sex....seems to be the main focal point in all this author's stories. That and Darcy and Elizabeths' constant declarations of the undying love for the other to the point of nausea. The author is absolutely brilliant in keeping the Regency feel in all her stories however, she needs to start focusing on the development of other character's stories and stop focusing on the Darcys' sex life. I will buy the rest of the books in this series as there is a **little** development of some of the other characters going on, mainly Kitty and Mary, and I am truly interested in their continuing stories.

This isn't P&P, it's crap!
If the author took months to write this she wasted her time.Ok, find i must go back and give a reason for my review. You haven't got Darcy or E!izabeth's personality right. They are both reserved people and would never talk or act that way even with each other. Read your book again in that light and see if you really see Darcy and Elizabeth in them.

Last Book Purchased
One third of this book is from the last book (presequel series) and the rest is soft porn. There is very little action and way too much bedroom. Author should advertise it as such. In reading the first chapter of the next book in series at the end of this book they travel one half day. Lizzy has a blinding headache and then -- once again -- they make perfect love. Same over the top perfection in this act. Boring. I'm unfollowing this author. If she left out 90% of identical love scenes and repeat chapters from previous books I think she could condense this story into one book.

An astonishing series
We are all aware of the many Jane Austen “sequels”. I’d rather ignored them. Happily, one of Sharon Lathen’s books showed up in a email of special deals one day.I started the first volume with some doubt but was quickly drawn in and entranced. She is not Austen, but she has further developed the characters to where one thinks they may have gone had Austen revisited their story. There are 5 main hooks on Elizabeth and Darcy, with 2 pre-wedding volumes. Then there is a Christmas through the years sort of book. After that there is book on Georgiana and one on Darcy’s uncle, who spent ma y years as a physician in India.Don’t be a snob; just try one. The author spins lovely, believable stories as she further draws the two main characters and the remarkable relationship they have for their time in history.I seldom write reviews and never fawn. I fell I love with the characters all over again and recommend you try one of the books. I recommend reading them in order, but I actually found the two-volume prequel after I’d read the main five. No matter. These are enjoyable reads and I wish I weren’t at the end of the books. Thank you, Sharon Lathen.

every paragraph seems to contain either Darcy or Lizzy declaring their love for one another
Unfortunately, I accidentally purchased the second book first and decided to purchase the first book before reading the sequel. Big mistake!!! All the book is about is a gushy, sentimental, irresponsible couple. Neither characters are recognizable as the original Darcy and Elizabeth. For instance, every paragraph seems to contain either Darcy or Lizzy declaring their love for one another. There is no substance to the story, no plot to follow. The main characters spend all their time locked in an embrace leading to intercourse, again and again... The author has us believe Elizabeth has married so far above her station that she has to be taught how to conduct herself in society. Excuse me, did I read a different book? In P&P Elizabeth is a gentleman's daughter and knows how to act in society. In fact her manners and rationality are far above the norm for the time, and she certainly is aware how to manage a household. The tone of the language? May I please advise the author 'steel' was not invented in the early 1800's. Also, the aristocrats never referred to their servants as staff or employees. Darcy a virgin? Please ... do your research. Men of that era and class behaved in any way they pleased. Darcy certainly is a proud man, servant girls or the ladies procured by the valets to see to a gentleman's needs would be used and looked down upon appropriately. Twentieth/ first century values are inappropriate for the 1800's.

So Bad it's actually Funny
A bad book, badly written. There are only two reasons for writing sex scenes: as erotica or to advance the characterisation and/or plot. This book does neither.Somewhere in it there is a plot, but it's buried in badly described, tedious attempts at describing the marital relations of Darcy and Elizabeth, over and over and over again. Is it possible to do that readably? Yes. It that done here? No. Everything is described in the most purple, overwrought way. Nothing is less than wonderful, amazing, astounding, and the author apparently doesn't know the difference between hairline and scalp - which gave one kissing scene a very odd turn.Everybody sounds the same, except for the lower orders who sound developmentally disabled. I started making notes on the grammatical and historical errors on page one and gave up at note 78. Don't call something "indescribable" if the next thing you are going to do it attempt to describe it! Do some research on 18th/19thC manners and customs. Try and stay in the correct tense and use a dictionary not just spell check - there were far too many words used incorrectlyAdd that to the anachronisms, the Americanisms and the tin-eared prose ( note 2 something is described as 'deeply profound') and I would demand my money back if this hadn't been a present.

Well written sequel
A well written sequel to a classic story that digs into the relationships that develop and change from courtship to marriage.

Pride and Prejudice meets Fifty Shades of Grey
Ok, no whips or chains but totally lacking in plot, and, like FSOG, I found myself skimming through the sex scenes thinking 'oh, for goodness sake, not AGAIN, surely?'. The characters are nothing like any of the film/TV versions, let alone the original book (has Ms Latham actually read the book?). This effort is a complete waste of time and money, unless you wish to be amused by the awful Americanisms, the lack of knowledge of early 19th century dialogue and behaviour and the most appalling sentimental drivel.
