First impressions are good, it works as expected. I also have the 60' Giraffe "Heavy Duty" hose reel, and this one is heavier duty, if that means anything considering they're both made of plastic. This one is smoother w/an easier to install, more stable mounting solution. Hose quality is the same and both work fine. If I had it to do over again, I'd get this one times two instead of getting the 60' one. Hope this helps!

I finally went for it and ordered one. I know Giraffe brand is a little more then others, but the quality is so much better. Everything about it is better. The looks, it locks perfect every time, the retracting is smooth and always goes up to the nozzle. Very well built. So much so I ordered a second one for the front yard too. I did get the bigger diameter hose one for the front. Because the first one I bought came with a smaller hose but the length was longer but it didn't have enough to power my pressure washer. The bigger diameter hose isn't as long but is still pretty long, and it provides a better amount of water. Love these guys products.

this product works well and is well built. I installed this on a post which i pre-dug but it didn't fit so I had to add more wppd to the post. This would have been nice to know previously.

Had a small problem with leaking. Contacted customer service and they immediately responded and sent a new hose reel. The ease of using this product is so much better than having to drag a hose around and the length is just what I needed.

Super fast delivery. The first one we received had a leak somewhere inside the reel, the company promptly sent out a replacement and gave adequate time to receive and send the old one back. The new one works great!

Pros:-Has a strong recoil mechanism.-Overall quality is pretty good.Cons:-One major flaw is that it sometimes doesn't recoil completely. The hose doesn't always line up correctly on the spool as it recoils, even though it has a threading device. You end up having to pull it in and out over and over in hopes that it will retract all the way - and not always with success, leaving the end hanging a couple feet from the spooler.

is it really 5/8 hose? looks thinner, may thinner hose easy to rewind into the housing. Auto rewind is cool! But i guess I'll use my standard 5/8 hose on the other side of my house to wash cars .it's still worth it.
