THE DAMAGED SCREW SET ARRIVED AT THE RIGHT TIME TODAY ...
THE DAMAGED SCREW SET ARRIVED AT THE RIGHT TIME TODAY. I HAD TO REMOVE A BROKEN DRAWER BACK PLATE THAT HOLDS THE DRAWER TRACK AND IT WAS IN A TIGHT PLACE TO REACH ANYWAY BUT THE SCREW WAS DAMAGED AND THE REGULAR BIT COULD NOT GET A GRIP TO GET IT OUT. I USED THE SMALLEST DAMAGED SCREW EXTRACTOR BIT AND IT BACKED THE SCREW RIGHT OUT. WHOO-HOO I JUST KNEW THIS WAS GOING TO BE AN ALL DAY JOB BUT WITH THE EXTRACTOR SET IT WAS ONLY ABOUT A 10 MINUTE JOB FROM START TO FINISH. GOT THIS SET AT A REDUCED PRICE FOR MY HONEST REVIEW AND THAT IS WHAT I HAVE GIVEN.

Finally Changed my License plates
license plate screw ...it worked...with some persistence.I got my new License plates. figured it would be a 30 second job. turned out that the screw stripped and it became a battle of wills. I tried penetrating oil and 4 different screw driver types and sizes. failed. ordered this . I started with the size that fit the screw, in reverse made the hole. then flipped it to the other side of the bit....in slow speed, attempted a pull ...it grabbed but then it stripped it again. then I went to the next size up bit. same procedure.... fail. finally on the third time and second to last size bit, I reverse screwed the bit and the screw head fell off. all that was left was the screw body . I kept drilling into the body until I felt there was a deep enough depression that I thought I could flip to the other side of the bit and attempt to pull out the screw. (about 1/8 depression) . I put pressure into it and slow torque and the broken screw came out. so for me it was well worth it, although it wasn't as easy as youtube made t look. maybe I didn't do it right but I got the end result. my new Veteran Plates are on.

Drills out metal shavings but not the striped screw.
I’ve tried multiple striped screws and nothing. The drill out bit seems to be eating the screw but once flipped the extractor spins and does absolutely nothing. Even with forced pressure nothing. Looking at the threads on the extractor and I now know why it doesn’t work. There’s barely any thread to catch the striped screw. I am using a Milwaukee M18 Driver. Already set up for a return.Edit: GOOD NEWS! I removed the screws... with a Dremel and Dewalts newer line of Flex Torque drill bits. I used the Dremel for the stubborn screws that were furthest apart from the stud and drywall and the others screws were easily removed with Dewalts Flex Torque bits.

If you're in the market for a unattractive $10 paper weight, then this is a score!
I bought these extractors because I figured they'd be a good thing to have in my tool box and was worth its weight in gold if it could actually do what it claims/ is supposed to do. In short, it is not even worth its weight in dead leaves! After having this set in my toolbox a year later I finally had the need for its use. Followed the directions exactly...The piece of crap head of the extractor snaps almost immediately when the drill is applied. Used a pair of channel locks to extract tg he screw instead. I threw this piece of garbage in the trash where it belongs. I'm sure there are other brands of higher quality/ higher price that would aid you in extracting screws, but as for this set, if you happen to be in the market for a $10 paper weight, then by all means get it, at least it will have some usefulness.

... don't tend to write reviews however it might be useful for other Amazon customers to know my experience
I don't tend to write reviews however it might be useful for other Amazon customers to know my experience. First time I used the extractor it broke off inside the bolt I was trying to remove making it now extremely difficult to drill out and re-tap. Not only did the product not work as depicted, it made my problem significantly more difficult than it would have been if I had not used it. And no, I was not using very much force/torque...the tool sheareed off quite easily and with little exposed above embedded bolt that would allow me to back it out. See attached picture

TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE...
I am so tired of product developersmaking promisesthat THEIR PRODUCT actually worksthey (the sellers) offer their product for a low price (usually under $10.00)and figure that -once a person discovers that it dose not workthey won't take the time to return it(hey-it's only $10 bucks!)well...this one goes into the HALL of FAMEof yet another FAILED product offering----------------I tried to remove a stripped screw on a wood door hingeit removed (snapped off) the HEAD OF THE SCREWleaving the body of the screw - still inside the framethis was a new door installso I wasn't working with rust - or any other elementsit (should) have popped right out!------------------for a little background on meI am a professional furniture craftsman (30+ years) - so I know how to use toolsI thought this was too good to be trueand I was right------------------and as you might of guessedI did take the time to RETURN it(thank you AMAZON)

Nice to have
I got these for my dad after getting him the TV version. They had broke so I thought these might be tougher. They are, sort of. It's been a pattern that when using these extractors on wood screws it either doesn't work or the heads break off, both of the wood screw and extractor. You still have to essentially drill backwards the first time to make it work. Still great for jobs for around the house where the screws haven't been exposed to weather and layers of paint over the years.
