As with all Glassmasters stained glass, all custom enamel paints used were put down one color at a time. Each layer was then dried at 300 degrees Fahrenheit . Once as many as 21 layers of color were applied, the panel was then kiln-fired at 1100 degrees Fahrenheit, at which temperature the glass became porous and almost melted, allowing the enamels to penetrate the surface of the glass, permanently fusing with it. This process achieved vibrant colors that can withstand decades, if not centuries in direct sunlight. A testament to craftsmanship, each panel/ stained glass round they made was worked on by at least a dozen pairs of hands. Unfortunately, Glassmasters in Richmond, VA ceased operations in 2005, so stained glass of this quality are no longer being made. RARE and highly collectible ornament
