Used to Read Eulogy during COVID-19 Restrictions
Not its intended purpose, but purchased it for son to use to deliver his grandmother's eulogy. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, it was not possible for him to use the lectern in the chapel because it was already being used and the restrictions prohibited sharing. This stand was a useful alternative because it was quick to assemble and meant he could read the eulogy as intended and comply with the restrictions. Not the usual circumstances you would expect to meet but it worked extremely well.

Pretty sturdy/stable AND fabulous flexibility: free-standing/desktop for music/cookbook/laptop
I have used this as a free-standing music stand outside, as a desk-top cookbook stand and as a desk-top laptop stand (pictured). It is sturdy enough for me, but clearly not as strong as the stands that I remember at school, in bands and orchestras. I'd say for domestic use only!As a free-standing music stand outside, it was set at a height so it was comfortable for me while I was sat on a chair and it seemed stable. It didn't blow over when some other peoples did, but after that I just kept my toe on the nearest foot just in case.As a desk-top cookbook stand it did exactly what it was supposed to do :-) The bits of metal that you use to stop pages turning are actually springy so keep the book open. That came as a (good) surprise to me. It just means you have to keep them folded away if you are playing off a single bit of paper music-sheet.As a desk-top laptop stand it is handy for getting the laptop off my desk and lifting the screen without filling my desk with laptop stand. This is its USP for me and is what makes this fabulous! Anyway, it is sturdy enough for this - but I'd say only if you're using an external keyboard (if you were trying to use the laptop keyboard you migh end up beaking it). The springy clips can be positioned to avoid laptop keys - at least in my case.Changing from free-standing to desk-top mode is easy but it helps to have something handy to tap the threaded bolt out. I used a v light hammer but e.g. a mug would do. Just to get it moving :-) There might be a risk of losing the desk-top adapter if you don't keep it safe as it is only 4" or so long. The bag is fine and it fits back inside it with space for e.g. pegs ... speaking of which...I haven't used the music clip in properly but I did clip it onto the stand. It seemed okay, but I used washing line pegs instead as they're more flexible and I'm a traditionalist :-) The clip seemed quite limited in where it could go to hold music and fasten on to the stand (because of how wide it is).All this, and it was delivered less than 48 hours ago... :-D

As a non-musician...
I don't play an instrument. I can't read a note of music. So I am an unlikely purchaser of this music stand. But it is absolutely wonderful for reading a book or watching videos off a tablet.Well made. Easy to transport. Thumbs up.

it works as a small music sheet stand
The music stand is as described, it is light weight, it is fully adjustable, it has a carry case and it is very quick to set up.It is fairly stable for such a light weight kit, however the bonus clip you get is very cheaply made and mine has broken on the second use (hence 4 stars not 5).My boys are learning to play the guitar and were asked to source a music stand for there small music book, for this purpose the stand works well and for the money I cant really complain. The supplier was also quick to send and item arrived adequality packaged. For a thick music book I'm not sure this would be up to the job, for a quick to set up and portable basic music stand this will work.

Good sturdy stand for what we wanted it to do.
We bought this stand to act as a book/tablet holder for my husband who has just had a neck operation. Absolutely ideal. Adjustable and sturdy, with a good deep ledge for putting a book on. Tripod legs are well positioned so his feel do either side when sitting down, and he hasn't tripped over them yet. Good stuff.

Missing parts!
I am generally happy with my music/laptop stand. It seems sturdy enough for me to do tethered shooting when the need arises on a photo-shoot. Unfortunately, my stand was missing 2 out of 3 rivets that held the 3 legs in place!! Quality control must have been on a tea break I assume? Anyway, with a rummage in the shed I found two nuts and bolts and fixed the stand myself. So now I'm happy with my stand!

Could have been sturdier
Ok for the price but not excellent.. good enough to hold print outs (although the clip at the bottom doesn't press the paper properly) but not very good for book.. slightest touch and there is a chance it may go down due to weight at the top too much.. of the extendable stems, top one is really flimsy.. I don't extend it more than half..
