After trying an imported junk filter, and having to return it. And THEN in-a-pinch having to pay full-pop for the mega-profit gougy OEM, I decided to try this one.This appears to be made by a REAL USA based filter company that has a real website. That was reassuring.Commenters talk about leak fears. But my expectations were a bit higher than that. Not only did I of course want a filter that doesn't leak, but I ALSO wanted a really good water filter at a realistic price.This Water Sentinel filter appears to be exactly that.They also included a small tube of O-ring lubricant which I thought was a nice touch.The water tasted pure and great after the initial "flush". And that has continued for the two weeks or so until now. But one thing that I also noticed a few days after installation and use: I looked into the ice cube storage, and the more recently produced cubes were noticeably clearer than the older cloudier ones below them, that had been produced with the barely-ready-to-be-replaced pricey OEM filter.I'm not sure if the bad reviews of this product are from agents of Asian competitors, or if real people actually had less than positive experiences with these filters. All I can say is that I am a real reviewer and user of this filter. I really used this filter in our Kenmore Elite side-by-side. And it is our new go-to replacement filter.

MADE IN THE U.S.A. and each filter individually cellophane wrapped with a cap, unlike some of the other filters I've received over the years. For the price, I know that it does not perform as favorably as the much higher priced filters, but for $15 vs. $45, I got more than what I paid for. This is my second time I purchased Water Sentinel after receiving others that cost more and they were made in China which was not published in their ads. Today though, I purchased a budget priced filter that performs as expected but exceeded my expectations of packaging with the CONFIDENCE that this product is not some Chinese manufacture of questionable components. Over the years, Chinese products have had high levels of formaldehyde and other toxic substances, so I stick with American made products as much as possible. Made in the U.S.A., I like to think that I am in some small way subsidizing an American wage to an American citizen while using a product of known-quality at an affordable price. Water Sentinel is all good .... God Bless America and American products.

We normally buy the water filters for our Kenmore Elite side/by/side refrigerator from Sears at a cost of $45.00 each. Decided to check on line with Amazon and I was amazed that we could get two (2) filters for the price of one. Paid $44.00 for TWO. The filters are in a different box than the one's purchased at Sears but work great. You must run at least one (1) gallon of water through the filtration system, but you also must do this with those purchased at Sears. (I had noted this on other on line reviews, that the water tasted funny, if this is not done then the water will taste weird).The filters came in before the date we were expecting them and packaged well. Will DEFINITELY purchase these again from Amazon.

Works and fits as it should!

Good water filter for my side by side Kenmore Fridge. Product claims to last 6 months, I think it can probably last a little longer than that even. You do need to flush a gallon or two of water through when you first install it so that some of the grayish water / particles get dumped instead of drank. You also need to cycle a bunch of air through the system before it flows entirely properly. At this price (under 20 dollars) it's quite a bit cheaper than most of the other filters on the market so it's hard to beat that price.If your city water sucks, I definitely recommend this.

Sears was selling this item for $63.99. That is absurd when you can find similar items that work exactly the same for 1/3 the price. This filter fits in my fridge with no problems whatsoever. I have no had any leaking or issues with noises.I bought this to replace a Whirlpool 4396510.Will definitely buy more when I run out in a year!

This product works as well as the brand name ones at half the price. I will definitely order this again.

Stick with original filters. Water seems to have a different taste.
