I don't write a lot of reviews, and when I do write one, its after I've fully tested the item and put it through usage a little tougher than normal.Ive been using this reel for 2 outings a week for the past 3 months. Now I don't fish from a boat per say, I fish out of a kayak, and one thing you can pretty much guarentee when your fishing in the ocean with a kayak. Things are going to get wet. Sometimes soaking wet. Which this reel did on many occasions. Now I did make sure I rinsed the equipment off when I returned home after each trip. Nothing special, just a quick rinse with the hose.Using this reel and various baits. In 3 months Ive landed between 40 and 50 fish. Ranging in size from a small 6 inch jack to a 34 inch snook and there were a few +30 reds that fully tested the drag system on this reel.The reel performed extremely well, both in distance of casting and in drag resistance when playing the larger and also the smaller fish I brought into the kayak. Its a very smooth drag.For the price (under $50) I was very impressed and I would say it fishes as well as some more well known brands that ran me between $100-$150.Ive been banging this reel around the kayak and wasnt sure how the color shift paint job would hold up. The answer is extremely well. There are a couple small areas where the paint has chipped off and thats it, I don't baby my reels and thats why im excited that I was able to find a low cost reel that holds up to my abuse and performs as good as a reel costing3 to 5 times as much.Its a no brainer that I'll pick up a few more of these. Most likely I'll get one more of the same size and probably pick the big brother up as well.I believe 99% of purchasers will be quite happy with this reel, and the only reason i say 99% is from my retail experience some years ago. You can provide a great product and great customer service. But there will always be at least one customer along the way, where it doesnt matter what you are willing to do. They will just never be satisfied. So to that customer, I say dont buy it. But to everyone else.. I say buy it especially while its on sale. You'll be happy you did!!

I bought this #3000 fishing reel because it would match my fishing pole with the same color. I read through some bad and good reviews before buying. There is one thing I dislike and give 4 star because when reeling in, the handle knob keep hitting the metal clip that release the line. It get so annoying. Other than that it pretty smooth and lightweight. The drag is pretty good when catching a fish . I use 8lb briaded line by the way . we'll see how well it will perform in the long run. For the price it cheap and affordable .you pay what you get .. I don't think I would pay for a 100 to 300 dollar reels.Will keep yall update in a couple months.Updated : August 13, 2023One year later; just the other day I went fishing. The soft handle came off because the screw was loosen and disappear. Make sure to tighten your screw after fishing or check any loose screws on the reel. I will be buy a different brand to test it out.

This is a very smooth fishing reel. So far I have only caught pan fish with it but I look forward to next year's trout season.

I bought this reel 3 weeks ago, so far I have noticed it's smooth reeling, and premium features like textured spool, and non slip handle. Some of these things may not seem like big must have features but this reel for its price a magnificent. The smooth reeling is great because you'll feel the thump immediately. The texture spool makes it so much easier to put line on the reel which can be a headache if you're new to fishing. that bring said it makes it a good reel for beginners due to price and ease of use. Additionally, the Non slip handle is great because it looks cool and feels good while reeling. the reel itself is a work of art. My wife kids and I love the colors shift, the little details all over the reel. This would make for a great Christmas present or a present to any fisherman no matter their expertise. I've owned many sougayilang products and this may be the best one so far. As I said, the texted reel is super nice, no slip custom handle is really nice, and the reeling is smooth. for this price I wouldn't recommend any other reel to any fisherman.

The only good thing about this reel is that it looks nice. But the looks are deceiving. The reel is awful. Line continuously gets caught under the reel. I used the reel precisely twice. I put brand new line on it, but it was tangling the line underneath itself so often that when I actually used it, I spent more time disassembling it to untangle the line from beneath it than I did actually fishing. The reel is largely made of really cheap plastic, also. It was a complete waste of money. I wish I had read the reviews before I bought it. Here's to hoping you don't make the same mistake.

Never heard of this brand before and because of the Prime Day Deals decided to roll the dice on this one. Set this up on the rod and while winding up the line so far very impressive action. Once I use it if my opinion changes I will update this but for the price the look and feel delivered so far.

Smooth operating reel, can tell its cheaply made but for $40 I won’t complain. Handle does make contact every so often with the line roller, I fixed this by adding a washer to the handle.
