Tried to connect my PC and monitor. Nothing happened. No instructions, no notification from the pc. Just plain nothing.

VNC Laptop Black Screen Resolved
I hated that I had to buy a package of three to get one, but it worked. If you're trying to VNC to a Windows 10 laptop with the lid closed, and are getting the black screen unless you raise the lid, this may be your answer. It's worked for many others, and it worked for me. Take that Microsoft.

Great for a remote romp on a closed lappy
I have a laptop. Low power, decent performance, but no longer my main daily driver. Close the screen, and the video conks out. Until this. Now I can use all of the good aspects of the lappy, wherever I want to remote in.

Worked perfectly.
Worked perfectly. Plugged it in and immediatly my videocard was under the impression it had a 1080p monitor plugged into it. Which resulted in a fast and lag free interface through my occulus Rift S. And Occulus Go. When I stream games to the wireless Oculus Go it o ly would work while the monitor was plugged in and turned on. Which sucks when your trying to play in bed at night next to someone sleeping. This fixed that problem. Also in the rift S it has a built in virtual desktop feature, this wouldn't work unless a monitor was plugged in and on also. Now I can use my PC and VR without needing a monitor, I can even just use my phone to connect to it initially to get past the windows pw login screen. Perfect solution to my issues.

Works great when setting up a headless system
Ordered the DVI style adapter and couldn’t be happier. Instead of using xserver-xorg-video-dummy on a fresh install of 18.04 ubuntu, I decided to give this a try for setting up VNC to a headless system. My laptop display is 2880 x 1800, so I was able to configure a resolution that works well for my setup. The somewhat cheap graphics card in the headless ubuntu system lists the following when paired with this adapter:4096x2160 (9:5)3840x2160 (16:9)2880x1620 (16:9)2560x1600 (16:10)2560x1440 (16:9)2048x1536 (4:3)1856x1392 (4:3)1792x1344 (4:3)2048x1152 (16:9)1920x1200 (16:10)1920x1080i (16:9)1920x1080 (16:9)1600x1200 (4:3)1680x1050 (16:10)1600x1024 (3:2)1400x1050 (4:3)1600x900 (16:9)1280x1024 (5:4)1440x900 (16:10)1400x900 (3:2)1280x960 (4:3)1440x810 (16:9)1368x768 (16:9)1360x768 (16:9)1280x800 (16:10)1152x864 (4:3)1280x720 (16:9)1024x768i (4:3)1024x768 (4:3)960x720 (4:3)928x696 (4:3)896x672 (4:3)1024x576 (16:9)960x600 (16:10)832x624 (4:3)960x540 (16:9)800x600 (4:3)840x525 (16:10)864x486 (16:9)800x512 (3:2)Which is plenty for my needs. I would buy these again.
