Gear lever cover.
Rubber gear cover had to be cut at the base to make it fit ,otherwise it is ok and works well.

Measure before fitting
This was perfect but only after I'd struggled to put on. It hurt fingers too. Had to cut bottom off to stop catching on reverse

Just the job
Fitted to a Rover 75 with a very battered gearshift. Was a bugger to get on, very tight fit, and once it was on, it held the release button in, so had to remove it, cut a hole in it and refit, now it's perfect, looks loads better

Does the job
Very hard to put on but a perfect fit. On the old gear stick the plastic was peeling and cutting hands, so this is as just the job.
