DEFECTIVE battery: likely old, damaged stock....just like everyone else experienced
Like so many others, I received a defective battery. This was for Dell Latitude e6540.Initially, my Dell would not recoginze the batter. I uninstalled and reinstalled a couple times with no luck, then found a few Dell battery reset procedures online. (1) with no battery installed and pc unplugged, hold power button for a minute, wait two minutes, reinstall: No luck. (2) with no battery installed and pc plugged in power and shut down twice. This seemed to work but battery was at 0%. Even the manufacturer's instructions state that full discharge (0%) can destroy the battery, then the battery charged to 29%. While still plugged in an charging, and error popped up that "no batter installed".After this repeated failure, I tried the battery reset procedures again, but Dell pc was insistent that no battery was installed. For giggles, I tried booting from the 29% battery, but no luck.Since, after finally being recognized as being installed, the charge was 0%, and since several people in the reviews state that they had to exchange the battery at least once to get one that works, I believe that these batteries are old stock, for beyond pot life (akin to shelf life) and therefore discharged so much that the internal batteries have become defective. After 4 hours of a wasted day, I am not going to take further chances with this company

Seems as good as OEM
I've been using this battery now for two months in my Dell Latitude E6440. I get no spurious error messages, it charges up quickly and reliably, and I've been getting between 3 and 4 hours of runtime per charge in mixed use. That said, it only lasts for about an hour and a half in a constant drain application, such as watching streaming video, which is long enough to watch your average feature length movie. That's the same performance I got from the laptop's original battery.I'm hard on my laptop batteries, and I don't take any special steps to prolong their lives. My laptop goes with me pretty much everywhere, and it's generally plugged in while at home and running on battery when I need to take it somewhere. I got nearly 3 years of use from the laptop's original battery, but disappointingly short useful lives from a couple of other 3rd party replacement batteries I bought after that. I plan to post an update to this review if this battery wears out prematurely.

Worked great, but suddenly died after 14 months of light use
As of the last two years, I don't use this laptop much, perhaps twice per week for a few hours each time, and perhaps 75% of the time plugged-in. So, I was a bit surprised to see it permanently die after just 14 months of light use. Seems like $45 should have bought a little more time than that, after the original battery lasted about 4 years of heavy use.

Sufficient upgrade to replace aging battery
Used this to replace a 5 year old battery, works fine in system.

Waste of Money
I originally bought this battery on May 30th. Out of the box it did not work. I returned the battery, was refunded and immediately purchased the same battery (early June) hoping the issue with the first battery was an anomaly. This one worked upon receipt. I began having issues in September just outside the return window (flashing orange battery light on my Dell Latitude) and then in early October stopped working altogether (as soon as I unplug my computer it powers down).
