These days, the biggest health hazards we face are not just from filthy factories poisoning the water supply. The EPA has made it at least slightly more difficult for big companies to get away with that kind of thing. Now, they just put the toxic waste right into the bright, shiny packages on the shelves of our local stores. Lately, the most cursory search for toxins that are killing people will lead to the grocery store instead of a dirty pipe pouring crap into the nearest body of water. The same chemical that killed many children and led to food safety standards at the beginning of the industrial revolution, is easily found in the most popular laundry detergent and fabric softener brands. It's not any safer there, either, because the most harmful toxins found in those pretty boxes and bottles, are small enough to sink right through our skin. The only real way to protect our families from such gross negligence in public safety standards is to either go broke buying the boutique brands that explicitly state that they don't contain those toxins, or buy the basic ingredients for such things and make them yourself. The biggest advantage we have to combat the problem, is that we now have access to products like this one, that make it easier to create the things we need, without a second mortgage. This lanolin is very clean, with only the faintest trace of the scent of wool. I use it constantly to battle dry skin, and add just a little bit of essential oil, and my favorite topical probiotics product. I'm happy to say, I have not had a bloody crack in my lip since I began using single ingredient products and creating my own lip balm. Now, that's something to get excited about. I hope this stuff maintains their high quality and low price for a long time.

I was encouraged to buy this based on the 4.7 review on scent. I don't know who these reviewers are, but if you hate the smell of lanolin, I'm here to tell you this stuff stinks really, really bad. I understand that things such as scents are highly subjective, but any objective person would tell you this smells horrible. I still rated the product 5 stars because it works wonders for a very rare form of rash I suffer during winters, and because the listing/product itself isn't advertised as smelling great.

Back 47 years ago when I had my first child anhydrous lanolin was recommended to me for cracked nipples from nursing. A lifesaver for sure! Now, all these years later at age 72, I have other reasons to use it. LOL! I couldn't find a large jar like I got way back so initially I got a small one here on Amazon. Used it up very quickly. Back to Amazon I went and up popped this product when I searched this time. Large jar, decent price, smell not too strong. I recommend it if you need a product that is a barrier stronger than vaseline. This stuff is thick like axel grease but wonderful at soothing and blocking irritated skin.

I was going through little tubes of lanolin for my lips like crazy, so I broke down and bought this. Now I use it for not only my lips, but other skin care, and for treating some of my wool-working tools. Griends have asked me where I got it, and I have reccommended it to them. This is a good product.

This doesn't smell like lanolin it smells like really strong wet wool mixed with hot dry cleaner chemicals x 1000. My husband says it smells like axle grease and he grew up tending sheep...BUT it eliminated dark spots on my legs, scratches, and dry skin that I've battled on my feet for over a year 😆 so that's a plus!I tried to mix in some essential oils but that did not work at all to cut the scent. I used a half bottle of essential oil in 1/2 cup of this lanolin and the odor did not budge. If you can overlook the odor, it's a great product. I would buy it again!

Great product!! I use it for my daughter whenever she gets a diaper rash, cut or if her skin looks dry. I will keep buying this, but it lasts forever, so this might be enough to last until my kid is 18 years old 🙌🙌I have to agree with the comment below that the container is brittle. My daughter kicked it off her changing table and it cracked.

Although the box was in great condition the lid of the product was broken. Amazon wants me to take my time to drive into town and return the defective product. This product is sticky and you can’t just put a bag over the top to seal it without making a mess and I don’t have a lid that size to use. They can’t replace this product because they don’t have any. Probably shipped a defective product initially due to lack of supply.
