I wanted a camera to record in normal lighting to give a clear result without being too refined. It proves to be perfectly suitable for my needs. One thing I wanted to record was my method of making something which I used to do 20 years ago but the employer had never found anyone to do to the same standard. I popped it into my top pocket, started work and forgot about it. 2 hours later I remembered and switched it off. It had recorded for about 1hr 45 min and the results would have made an excellent training video apart from the fact that from the pocket my arm hid a lot of the useful stuff, hardly the camera's fault. The battery recharges in less than an hour from a USB charger and it is ready to go. The only problems are that the small size means that care has to be taken removing the SD card and inserting the charging plug, also, although the storage is recycled when full suffers from video freeze as the files are overridden so it is best to start with an empty SD card and remember that a 32GB card may not store all that can be recorded non-stop from a full charge The files are in 3 minute sections. It does get rather warm while charging but it doesn't seem to be a problem and it is best to read the instructions and practice to get used to it and gain confidence because the only indications on what it is doing are from 2 partially hidden LEDs, red and blue and both of these are off when recording,

This is a good product for the price, the quality of video is very good. I use this for work purposes and it does what I need it to do. The battery life is good.

Don’t bother, it’s temperamental. Sometimes it records, other times it doesn’t it can only record for 50mins at a time and saves as 5min clips. SD card and usb for the SD card both faulty and made my pc screen turn black until unplugged. The clips are saved as a .Avi file rather than mp4 and get corrupted almost every single time so they can’t be opened even if you put the SD card into a phone for playback, still shows black screen and loud crackling noise. Very unreliable. Works a a normal pen though but you’re better of buying a £1 biro and writing down what you saw rather than recording with this.Cool idea but very poorly executed.

Left in a static position it works extremely well.I've also tested this spy pen sitting in my jacket pocket whilst on the move. Managed over two hours use on full charge. The 32gb card will give you roughly the same recording time (two hours). Let me tell you, absolutely no-one took any notice of a pen in my chest pocket.Recording on the move naturally creates camera shake (no stabilisation-not at this price) but the device still produced some useable footage (if one doesn't rush along in a hurry). Sitting still will capture strong, clear footage.Also records audio. This is better in a closed space, but will stick pick up loud voices and other noise when outside.Of course everything recorded can be cleaned up afterwards with third party stabilisation software (not included)Screenshots can be taken when watching back on PC. Can't speak for longevity (just bought it). Build quality seems ok.Note for females: In my opinion this is the perfect device to secretly record harrasment on public transport or anywhere else. Time/date stamp is on images once you set it up. Also good for schoolkids to film mistreatment, bullies and thieves. The list of uses is endless.Overall, for my purposes, this spy pen is adequate.

Bought it for my son and he enjoys using it for fun. Quite easy to understand how to use and picture/sound quality is good enough for something like this. 12 year can set it up and use it without any adult input.

It's ok and easy to use however there's no way the picture quality is 1080!

Exciting gift for Christmas and I am sure it will offer hours of fun.
