2pcs Type C USB LiPo Battery Charger Board with Battery Protection JST Socket with LED Indicator Charging Rate Adjustable Automatic Power-Down

These work as intended with 3.7v LiPo cells and appear to be well made. The small form factor with USB-C port was the main reason I bought them. Unfortunately, my project needs more than 3.7v so I ended up sourcing another similar board with a built in buck booster. I’m going to hang onto these for a future project.

They give you a little scrap of paper in the box warning the wrong connection will damage the breakout board. I thought this was weird since JST connectors are keyed and can only be inserted one way to prevent this issue. The problem is tat this board is wired backwards. If you plug a battery into the JST connector port you're going to burn up the board. Ask me how I know.You cannot plug your 3.7v LiPo battery directly into this board. It will burn up your board and if you're not paying attention who knows what other damage you'll do.I had to make a harness to connect the battery to the charger with the wires in the correct order. You can see in my photos I circled where the board was damaged and in the next two you can see the wire order on the battery itself and that they needed to be reversed going into the charger.

Haven't completed the project yet. Power section hooked up easily. USBc charging is good.
