Park Ranger in the back country of Montana
Update: I've added photos showing the use of Purinize on my tap water using a cloth as filter (showed my Sawyer bag as well since that's what I usually use). Water tasted much better (usually has a metallic taste) even though not much sediment showed on the cloth._______I truly enjoy this product. Working as a ParkRanger near Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks gives me plenty of opportunities to hike and camp in the back country. One of the most convenient aspects of this is the dropper-top. It makes for ease of use and to keep from cross contaminating. When flying to places like Yosemite I prefer to only take a carry-on and this package is travel size. It doesn't have an expiration date and it starts working in an hour. Once the solution is processed it creates a sediment that works in tandem with my Sawyer filter. You can use a coffee filter otherwise. The result: great tasting, pure water.

IT works as advertised
I finally got a chance to try this product that I ordered last week. I was hiking in the mountains and filled one of my water bottles with water out of a stream. I added the amount of Purinize recommended on the bottle (love the easy to use dropper bottle), shook it, let it sit for about 20 minutes, then ran it through my filter into another bottle. Drank the entire liter and there was no aftertaste like you get with the iodine based products. I will be taking this on a trip to Yosemite with me next month. Great product!

Caution
I can only report on the product packaging. However, this is now the second time I have encountered this issue with this exact item. The first time I threw it in the garbage. The seal is broken and the product is leaking out. Considering that this is a consumable product, double check the seal.

This product is amazing!
I usually buy Iodine, but I bought this instead to go with my filter. I used it on a recent camping trip and it worked well, I just followed the directions. There was no taste and I know it's healthier for me than Iodine, obviously, since it's all natural. I barely had to use any, so I can see this 2oz bottle lasting a while! Pretty awesome product!

Packaging needs improvement
I only have this for emergency so I haven’t opened it yet. I put it with my other emergency pack so I wish it was in a different color so I could recognize it easier in the bag of all this other stuff of red, white and black. I’m going to assume it taste fine, in an emergency, it probably wouldn’t matter to me.

No complaints!! what are you waiting for?
Its been almost a month since my Yosemite backpacking trip... I am A-OK today nothing to report. This product just WORKS... plain and simple. It does have a very (very) faint "taste", nothing gross or offensive mind you. I couldn't detect it right away, until I compared it A-B with non-purinize treated water. I use this after filtering with a Sawyer squeeze... FWIW. So I mechanically filter first and then treat with purinize. My only other reference for comparison is iodine tablets, and purinize drops most definitely taste WAAAYY!! better than those awful things.

Needs a better bottle cap.
I found that you cannot dispense the solution in drops from the bottle; it just pours out. I placed the solution into a dropper bottle for dispensing. Given the number of reviews that complain about packaging, you would think that the company would catch the hint that they need to take another look at their bottle.

Used in all water I drank in India
I got this before my trip to India and honestly, I noticed my husband who didn't use it was under the weather and sick for some of the trip- while I had absolutely no digestive issues or food sicknesses of any kind that arose the whole time I was there. It was amazing! Would definitely recommend. I have so much left over I have stored it in my house in my emergency kit.I would buy bottled water, pout the recommended number of drops in the bottled water and follow the directions, and THEN I would pour the purinized water through a Brita filter just to be safe. Will do that next time I am traveling to a country that requires me to do this to prevent sickness.
