I purchased the bug catcher and viewer for my children and no lie myself, it has always been fun to catch bugs and watch them, but this product is amazing and very easy for kids to use, so far we have been able to catch a cicada, butterfly, bumble bee, spider, lady bug, wasp that actually had caught its own grasshopper, this is a great activity for all ages, we have tried other products but nothing is as easy as this and all the bugs were caught viewed and let go with no harm, I am definitely going to purchase a few more for birthday and holiday gifts. I absolutely recommend this for all insect lovers.

We take this thing out every time we go outside. The kids love catching bugs in it and looking at them. My only complaint is that the bottom closure is kinda wiggly and can leave a fair size gap for insects to escape if you move it a certain way. I’m assuming that’s so the bugs don’t get hurt, which is great, but also the little ones like to pass it around and it makes for a lot of screaming and running around when a bug gets out.

This is a great little gift that is perfect for kids. Most bug sets that you see now a days are all about catching bugs bug not letting them go. This one is a lot different. You find a bug. Press the button and it opens the lid. It gently catches the bug and release the button to close the lie. You can observe the bug through the magnifying glass at the top. You're encouraged to set the bug free when you're done. You can put other things in there to magnify too. This is great for kids ages 3 and up and so much better than tv or games. It encourages kids to get outside! This makes a great gift!I hope this review has been helpful to you!

Purchased for a 4 year old boy. He has enjoyed seeing bugs up close. The product appears to be easy for him to use to catch bugs gently.

This bug catcher is REALLY cute! I have a modern day Dennis the Menace who is constantly catching bugs and frogs. You are never quiet sure what surprises you are going to find on laundry day. When I saw this I knew he would love it so much. I got it for him for his birthday. It works great! I love the magnifier window and I love how easy it is to release the bugs with the trigger button when he is done studying him. It is pretty sturdy, which is needed in this house and easy for little hands to hold. Much needed tool for summer adventures for little ones

Got these for my 6 year old to bug watch without the fear of the bug possibly coming at you. My kid is terrified of bugs but at the same time she’s very curious and mom is too scared to pick them up barehanded as well so this was a win win for the both of us. The only downside is that the trap door gets caught on occasion but then again it’s plastic and not meant as a high tech gear. Supposedly it can magnify up to 3X the focus but honestly I couldn't see the difference. I’m just happy we can now observe little critters in a secure environment.

This is an interesting little bug catcher with a cool design. The trigger on the handle opens the bottom of the viewing case to allow you to catch a bug without having to touch it. This is especially useful for kids, like my daughter, who wants to see the "weird" bugs but is too scared to grab them with her hands. As soon as it arrived the kids had the box torn open and ran outside to test it out. It took no time at all for them to figure out how to use it and looking for bugs. It seems to be well built from strong plastic as it has certainly taking a good beating between my three kids and still works without a crack. I was a bit disappointed in the "magnifying" function on the toy. Either it doesn't exist at all, or is so minuscule, that it doesn't even register to your eye. Yes, you can twist the yellow band and move the eyepiece up and down and inch or two. That moving your eye an inch or two closer/farther is the only real "magnification" that is going on. Despite that, the kids are still having a great time with it and I would still recommend it to anyone with kids who like exploring the insect world.

I bought this for my best friend's daughter who loves bugs. She LOVES it! She can safely pick up all the bugs she loves and see them magnified. She takes it everywhere.
