This is one of the cheapest "silent" violins on the market. And it shows. It's good for beginners who aren't sure they want to commit serious time to learning how to play the violin (like myself). A piece like this is good for those who live in apartments who don't wish to attract unwanted attention. That said. I will go into specifics.I wasn't happy with the bow. I wasn't expecting much, but I had to untangle it from the case. Then upon closer inspection, it wasn't haired very well, as a lock of hair rests above the wedge. It does perform the task it was made for...so...there's that. The case...meh. I would have been happier with a paper sack if the cost could have been directed to higher quality components. The Violin. Right away, the A string broke, so I replaced all the strings with higher quality ones. Next the tailpiece kept slipping. This ISN'T good because, not only will it not keep in tune, but there's a risk it will pop off completely.I don't have more to say on this as I'm currently mulling over how to handle the tailpiece issue. Looks like I'll eventually enjoy using it though.Edit:Actually, after ordering a pack of Tailpiece Tailguts (is that REALLY what they're called?) and replaced the slipping one, it keeps tune very nicely. I also purchased a higher quality bow, as I was having a hard time getting the included one rosened up well enough to get good sound from it. So now I'm quite pleased with it.I DO wonder about the bridge though...as it's shorter than a standard 4/4 bridge. I suppose they don't break very often, so maybe I'm worrying about nothing.
