ClosetMaid3258 Cubeicals 3-Cube Storage Bench, Natural Gray with Gray Cushion

I needed a relatively inexpensive storage option to accent the bookcases in my study. This bench, in espresso, was a perfect match and fit the space available. I was able to get the storage bench at a reduced price on Amazon and seized the opportunity. The bench is a better quality wood than most assemble yourself pieces of furniture. It assembles with interlocking metal tenons and some wooden dowels --- a flat blade and phillips head screwdriver are all that is required (there are 4 wood screws too). Everything was pre-drilled and precut and aligned perfectly. My only complaint is that the pieces are not marked so you have to match them up very carefully with the instructions. The instruction booklet is very good, but you do have to read them first, then identify the components, and re-read them again before starting. Working alone it took me about two hours to put together on a gloomy afternoon taking my time. The backing is the usual piece of cardboard that needs to be tacked into place, but again the holes are pre-started and perfectly aligned. I could have probably moved faster but deliberately took my time. I wouldn't say it was an easy assembly, but I had no problems and would not describe it as difficult. The finished product is very sturdy and it serves its purpose. There were a couple of small blemishes on the wood but they were in places not easily noticeable and were acceptable given the price. The included pad is a nice touch. It is thick and comfortable. I would buy this again and would recommend it to others.

As a 190lb guy I'm sitting on this bench over 4 years later and two moves. Still looks like new, no wobbles. has 3 cloth cubes that are about 1-foot cubes. Probably could fit 10 mens t-shirts in each cube.

We have been trying to find something for our small hallway off-and-on for several years. We were undecided about whether we wanted a small table or a small bench. The hardest part was finding something we liked that was no more than 35" wide. This bench is the perfect fit.We have several pieces of flat-pack furniture. Normally I am less than impressed with the quality of the pieces, especially the back pieces. They tend to be made of thin cardboard and provide no stability to the piece. I was pleasantly surprised but this bench. It's probably one of the least expensive pieces we own but one of the better quality pieces. The back pieces are much sturdier than I expected.It took me about an hour or so to assemble it. I did have to get my husband to help me tighten down the screws but I did the rest myself. It was easy and the directions were very clear. I recently said I'd never own another piece of flat-pack furniture but now I'm willing to make an exception if it's ClosetMaid.

This a very functional and nice looking piece at a very very reasonable price. Have to admit I was a little intimidated about putting it together when I unpacked it and saw the amount of pieces.......BUT, it really turned out to be not that hard! All the pieces fit together very well and with a little patience and reading (and re-reading) the instructions I was able to put it together on my own without any major hiccups in about 90 minutes! And I was being deliberate! It is very sturdy once all the screws are tightened and the seat/pad is surprisingly comfy to sit on. The one thing that was missing - and it was a little surprising since they were very thorough in designing and providing all pieces and finishing touches - was some felt-type pads to put under the 4 corners so the piece doesn't possibly damage a wood floor. But that was minor. I had some handy and stuck them on so now it slides nicely. All in all I would recommend this as a nice useful little storage bench for books, magazines or some decorative pieces. Well worth the price, functional and not difficult to assemble once you take a deep breath. hahaha :-))

While this product went together smoothly and well, it arrived looking like it was going to come out of the box in pristine condition. The pieces came out chipped and the edges were dented in. There were also several places that had scratches as well. The box was completely sealed up so I’m not sure how this happened. It was a disappointment for sure. These scratches and dents do not affect the use of the storage bench, but I do expect something brand new to not be so damaged.

My husband is in love with this. He is 71 and said he is getting too old to kneel and put his boots on. He wanted a place to sit. We had to do very little rearranging. Got rid of a standing 'tree' coat rack and ordered this plus a wall-mounted coat rack for above it. He assembled it within two hours, despite the fact that instructions were not all in the right sequence. (The side panels have to be in place and ready to attach before the bottom panel can be attached. Also, there were dowels for the bottom panel that go no where. Eliminated them.)The only complaint, and not much of one, is that we chose the bench in espresso, liking the dark brown color, and it is really almost black. The cushion is a nice surprise. The cover is a water-resistant fabric and has a zipper, I suppose in case you ever want to replace the cover or the foam inside. It also has velcro on the bottom to keep it from falling off the bench, or moving around on the bench. Now my husband stores his boots in the cubicles and the area is so much neater than before. Note, that this is a very small unit. For us, it fit perfectly without our having to move any furniture around, and at 16 inches, it is narrow enough that there is no interference with our front door opening. It also appears to be very sturdy, with no wobble or motion to it. We consider it to be an excellent value for what we paid.My husband was so happy to sit and try it as soon as he finished assembling it. That evening our son-in-law came over and the first thing he did was sit on it and say, "I could use this when I put my boots on." Exactly. We will all be happy with this purchase.

The directions were easy to follow. It took us about 20 minutes to put together. Just needed a Phillips screwdriver and a small hammer. It seems fairly sturdy. Take care in attaching the peel and stick velcro as it can't be moved once down. Be sure of positioning. We bought the little cloth inserts . They arrived the day after and are nice to hide things in. Very happy with the way it looks. Matches our tiles perfectly and enhances the decor in our bathroom.

This looks great in my hall, looks good for the money and handy for recycle boxes and storing things

Easy to put together and very sturdy good buy

I live this storage bench! The color and the style is so modern. Extremely simple to put together as well. I rated it a 3 as it showed up with damage. I don’t think this was the manufacturers fault, but still disappointing for the cost.
