Q: what are the dimentions of the small size

I bought a medium and far too small for me. I recommend you go up a size.

Q: What size would I need for a 40inch waste and a 27 inside leg

I am 38inch waste and 27 inside leg and I purchased size XL. The trousers have an elasticated top and I have a 'bit of room' BUT I think that the next size up may be the best option for you. Hope this helps. Good bowling! (shame about the weather).
