Elegant, functional, accessible
I work from home, therefore I"m always looking for ways to remain active throughout the dayI've had the BB Home Gym for about one week now and so far both product and customer service are excellent. The BB is so elegantly designed that it is capable of a lot more than the simple design would have you believe. After one week I've by not means exhausted all the possible configuration. The available videos and classes are a very helpful in understanding how to get the most from the BB.Clubbodyboss feels as it is still in a beta stage, but I have no doubt this will soon be a solid offering once a few kinks are addressed. I like scheduling the live workouts for the evening, I'm more focused on completing all my other evening tasks in time for the class.Customer service is super responsive, I love that they provide honest direct responses to my questions.Really looking forward to further exploring this new method of working out.Update: July 14The BB 2.0 is more than meeting my expectations. It is absolutely fantastic having access to the compact gym around the clock. As I'd hoped Club Body Boss is turning into a well rounded program. The on line training and the portable gym is an extremely effective workout solution. Very happy with this modern approach to exercising. I have access to a 24x7 gym in my complex..but i rarely use it. I'm on the BB 2.) almost everyday.

Love the fact that I can wake up and get ...
This is exactly what I was hoping it would be. I keep it in my bedroom and slide it under the bed after using it. Love the fact that I can wake up and get a few exercises done before heading to work, in about five minutes. I'll typically pull it back out when I get home and do the same thing. A couple weeks ago threw it in the car and took it on a trip to use in the hotel room (just the bar, not the whole thing).Have only had it for a month but seems pretty durable and easy to configure for different types of exercise. I mostly do squats, shoulder raises, curls, and bench/row. I used to go to LA Fitness and do the standard bench, squat, row type of workouts but ultimately it was taking up too much of my time, and I'm not so much into gaining "bulk" muscle mass anymore. I quit the gym and was mostly just jogging and doing pull-ups wherever I could find a bar. That was nice but I lost too much muscle after a while, so this has allowed me to gain that muscle back and continue to maintain my strength and flexibility without having to spend so much time in the gym process (getting ready, driving, locker room, lift, shower, etc).I'd recommend it to anyone who wants an easy reason to work out, mobility, flexibility, or strength maintenance, but not necessarily for people looking to gain bulk muscle mass.

This won't replace free weights, so don't expect it to.
I'm 5'9" and 170 pounds and I really put these bands to the peak of their stretch range for things like press so if you're much taller than me I wouldn't recommend buying this system. This doesn't "bring the gym to your home." Lifting dead weight throughout the entire rep range cannot be achieved with resistances bands and it won't create the same results. If you want a gym body, go to the gym. Now, if you're like me and you're either too injured or too weak to exercise with even body weight, this is a great place to start. The base is great. It's designed well (I would have preferred a wider foot pad but it's good enough I suppose) and it's lightweight. The rings and the bar are compatible with any bands you can clip them to (and there are plenty out there to buy) and you'll want to buy additional bands pretty much right off the bat. Anyone who NEEDS to workout with resistance bands is going to have limited ability to get a lot of benefit from 40 pound bands, especially since you have to double them to get proper height for some of the workouts, essentially making them 80 pound bands. The ones Amazon recommends in addition (both sets) are good to go. If you buy the 11 piece set you'll want to buy 2 ($70 but cheaper than buying the Body Boss bands).I don't recommend squatting with this board. The bands don't provide a stable enough resistance throughout the rep range even if you double them so you're likely develop muscular imbalance if you squat with these bands regularly. Squat bodyweight or use a medicine ball or get a set of heavy closed elastic bands and use those (no board needed) for a squatting motion or go to a gym and squat a barbell.I don't recommend deadlifting with this board. No amount of doubling or tripling the bands is going to create the proper starting position for you (bottom of the rep range) without preventing you from standing upright at the top of the rep so you're likely to develop muscular imbalance if you deadlift with this board regularly. If you want to deadlift, go to a gym and lift a barbell. This board and the bands you use with it have a ton of versatility for training weak areas of your body and training your body to be healthy enough to do proper bodyweight or free weight exercise. The door anchor especially is a great addition that will allow you to get a full shoulder, chest, delt, bi, tri, trap, and full back workout. I've found limited utility for core exercise with it and have determined that using it for legs simply isn't a good idea for the reasons listed above. For lower body I heavily suggest using bodyweight or closed elastic resistance bands or any kind of dead weight that will allow you a more stable and complete resistance throughout the rep range. The cables I received were flawed- there is a knob in the bindings at the top of the strap that is held by a ring to keep the ring and strap together. On one cable, the knob sits about a half inch higher, which doesn't sound like much but is amplified at the top of the resistance range where you can feel a real difference when using the handles or the bar. I alleviate this by simply grabbing the band itself but when my other cables get in I'll be retiring these and using those instead. All in all, it's a great base for a home exercise program if you're at a level that resistance bands will aid you in strengthening your ligaments and muscles enough to support for traditional exercise. If you're already at that level, this is not a substitute for the gym. I bought this, 2 sets of the 11 piece bands and the elastic bands in addition to an ab wheel and a jump rope with a foam roller. It takes about 90 minutes (including the time spent switching cables around) to get a full cardio, core and full body workout in. You will not be able to achieve that with this system alone but it is integral to the process.4 stars. Minus one due to the uneven cables and it should include a range of cables rather than just the 40 pound set. It's really a good base for a home workout program for beginners.
