If you are looking for the correct GPS sensor to run a GPS app on a windows 10 PC, look no further. I decided to install a PC in my car to replace crap hardware available on the market utilizing android auto or apple carplay. One of the big things I needed was GPS navigation that could be integrated to an easy to use search interface.. Cortana is great for this. The roadblock was that my original globalsat BU-353S4 receiver used NMEA, which windows 10 does not understand (why this is, idk). You can use third party software in order to get it to work, but it's finnicky at best. With this GPS sensor, windows 10 understands it immediately, and apps all respond to it. No third party program needed. Also, the driver can be found at u-blox the description has a typo, so search 'u-blox gnss driver' in google and you should find it. I'm using Windows Maps now with no problem, and can use Cortana voice commands to navigate to new locations hands-free while driving.

Does not work
Trying to use this item from my computer for boat navigation, didn’t give the right web address in order to download component information so that it will run on your computer. Wrote the company an email for correct web address, but no response. Went through all the questions and answers on their Amazon for this product, tried to use other web addresses to download correct information for unlock download, unfortunately could not get what I needed to get this unit to work. My suggestion do NOT buy this product. Although I did contact their customer service on Amazon and they were very nice and polite and tried to send me to the right where the dresses but even they could not download it.

Never got it to work on new Surface Pro 7 -i7
Tried off and on over 2 days to get this to function on my new Surface Pro 7 - i7, never did. The driver and info was hard to find(u-blox gnss 2.40) After I did, I installed them - uninstalled them - reinstalled them from another site - a few times. To no avail. The product isn't listed on the GlobalSat site and couldn't find any support.Update: This seems to be an driver issue with Windows release 1903. Works fine on an old laptop running release 1809. So until they update the driver it won't work on the Surface.

The Most Impressive USB-Connected GPS Receiver I've Tested
The description implies that it only works on Windows 10. But it worked trivially for me using my own GPS software under Ubuntu and Raspbian Linux. It manifests as a ttyACM device with the USB vendor/product ID v1546p01A8 at a rate of 9600 bits/second and a default update frequency of 1Hz. It uses the Ublox 8 UBX-M8030 chipset which supports both the standard NMEA and the proprietary binary UBX protocol. The Ublox 8 is the most impressive GPS receiver of the sixteen I've tested with my own software. I'm amazed it's as inexpensive as it is.

It works but not very useful
It does work but is not very useful because it does not interact with any location based software I put on my PC. Stated it worked with Bing Maps/Cortana it did not for me, I used ArcView, nothing still. Tried google maps, QGIS and Maptive, so after 30 days of trying I have given up.

Works with Linux
Works great with Linux and in my case gpsd. Indoors was able to lock on a dozen satellites instead of the 5 my other USB GPS gets. One of the cheapest GNSS receivers I have come across.

Doesn't work with any Windows 10 App except the U-Blox Test app
The description said it would work with Windows Map, it does not. Currently we are in Canyonville and Windows Maps says we are 200 miles north just outside of Portland. And of course Google Maps doesn't know where we are either. But its saying we are 60 miles north of Portland near Rainier Or. Its sad they sell this stuff and lie about it what it works with.

Works as intended
I use python 3.9 with paternal, write data to. Json. Most of the time it picks up 10 plus satellites. Not bad for the price
