Easy and Safe
The slicer is simple and intuitive to use, we tried slicing pork belly and a steak for stirfry. The steak turned out nice and even. The pork belly is a bit too thin to start with so it could only get a few thin slices before it is too thin to continue. Threads of meat might fall into the slit between the two platforms when cutting the last bit of it and the meat gets too small.Cleaning is straightforward as most components could be disassembled, the plastic tray catching the sliced meat covers the platform and prevents it from getting greasy. The small brush that comes with it is also handy. We mainly will use it to slice meat but in the future, we might also try it on vegetables or bread.

Works just fine, multiple pieces to clean
We've used this slicer three times for meat and some tomatoes. Works just fine as advertised. Quiet, appears to be pretty safe, makes nice even slices. This is not an appliance for just casual use. We have minimal storage space and did not want to leave it out on a counter. It folds nicely and allows for easy storage. For a few slices off of a piece of turkey, use a sharp knife! If you want to slice a whole tri-tip like I just did, use this slicer. Just recognize that there are multiple pieces to clean and be prepared to spend a few minutes doing that cleaning. The trade-off for small and easily stored is maybe slightly harder to clean!

love it!
Man oh man am i glad I got this when I had the chance. Its lightweight because its made of plastic but its VERY solid plastic. I love how compact it folds up when not in use. This makes making homemade lunch meat and slicing cheese blocks so much easier without taking up counter space! I hope this one comes back because I would love to recommend this exact model to some friends of mine!

Not sharp
We bought this to cut a big prosciutto we got from Lidl, 14 lb , just to slice it and store it probably use once a year, price was good for portable slicer however it was impossible to cut thin slices, maybe frozen meat would be better when is stiff but for us was just not working, meat was crumbling, squashing , the blade is not sharp to get any meat thin sliced, we tried bread, it was just destroying it, making crumbs, returned it.Positive thing , cute look and folds nicely to store .

Wonderful Slicer
Wonderful, compact, affordable, and efficient slicer. It is so easy to clean, and so safe to use. I make homemade Tuscan bread, and it slices it beautifully! When I'm done it is easy to clean as the pieces come off readily, and I have a neat pile of bread crumbs. This is an added bonus! It stores nicely in a small space.

Broke under normal use
Several of the plastic pieces broke just during meat slicing; additionally, the piece that connects the blade to the machine broke. This is a bad item that has been replaced with a newer model that seems to have corrected many of the usability issues we had; hopefully the quality issues are also fixed.I have not found a phone number to call Ostba about the issues with the slicer. I e-mailed them four months ago and messaged them through Amazon two months ago and have heard nothing. I have found no way to contact them.

So far it works, but…
So to be clear this thing does a great job slicing. I’ve done a turkey breast and a loaf of homemade lunch meat and was very happy with the outcome. Here’s the issue, to make this collapsible, there’s a piece that needs to be removed and replaced before you. It’s the metal bar that the plastic cradle slides back and forth on to bring the food into the slicer. There’s a button that you punch that releases the bar, and it has started to very inconsistently not not release the bar. I’m concerned that the internal release mechanism may be breaking and it will eventually stop working all together. If this happens with the cradle off the bar, the unit will essentially no longer be able to function. If it breaks and the cradle is on the metal bar, it will no longer be collapsible and the whole reason I bought this model was for storage reasons. I’m hoping this doesn’t continue to get worse.

Works well
I purchased to replace my 40 year old foldable slicer that finally gave up and died I used it once so far to slice a prime rib for French dip sandwiches it did well it was easy to disassemble and clean I am not the type of person that uses a slicer all the time I use it 3 to 4 times a year mainly meats no cheeses if this is what you want it for it will do the job well if you are slicer happy and want to use it allot I would look at something else and not foldable. I would purchase this item again and was very satisfied for my use
