I should have bought one sooner
Wow, just wow! This is the best thing ever for travel or even just riding in a friend's car at home. After the first use and initial sizing adjustments, it is so easy to use. It takes under a minute to put it on your kid before they get in the car and then seconds to buckle them in using the car's 3-point seatbelt. It comes in a carrying bag that is also a little backpack. Maybe you will have more success getting your child to carry the backpack. I usually put the vest in my bag.My child loves the ride safer vest. He even likes to wear it around after we get out of a vehicle, because it's like wearing a snuggly hug. It's fun to "ride without his car seat" in a regular seat using the regular seatbelt. My short child can't see out the side windows, but if he sits in the middle he can see out the front windshield.Note that it is not FAA approved for use in an airline seat.Benefits of air travel with this:1) no more worrying about checking your car seat and potential damages or delays in receiving it at your destination3) no more lugging a giant car seat with you through the airport3) no more renting unknown/gross car seats from rental car companies or requesting Uber/Lyft with aforementioned questionable car seats4) no more installing/uninstalling your car seat repeatedly in taxis, shuttle buses, tour buses etcAs a shorter woman, this thing looks so comfortable, and routes the seatbelt so well over the shoulder and chest, I kind of want one for myself.

Fits
Fits very comfortable on our 9 year old. We got this in place of a booster seat and had to double check with our local fire department to be sure that it's legal to use. Since they gave us the go ahead, she's been wearing it every time in the van. We have a Hyundai Entourage and cannot for the life of us fit 3 car/booster seats in the back. Helps her fit in between 2 even though it is still a squeeze.

This was a great idea!
Bought this because my son-in-law bought one to use in his car instead of switching out the car seat every time. Since my grandson stays with us sometimes, we ran into the same problem. I often take groups of people I. My car and I had to take the car seat out repeatedly. Not ideal. This sol es the problem for both of us. We keep it by the door, and whoever needs it takes it and we’re off. No more finagling a car seat. This is just a great idea for anyone who has a child visiting often. My grandson loves it, and we can use it for any toddler that visits. Not difficult to use, either.

Perfect for travel. Compact.
Love love love this for travel instead of having to take my car seat through the airport. Fits in my carry on and is very light. Easy to setup and get on and off. This is a game changer.

Convenient option
Child didn't complain about wearing this. Was used for a week-long trip on which about 625 miles of driving occurred, with frequent in/out of vehicle. Seemed to be able to get it fitted properly, though it was difficult to get the lap belt positioner piece to always lay as flat on child's lap as it's probably supposed to. The strap that goes under the child and secures to the harness between their legs was annoying to secure and remove, especially when leaving the harness in the vehicle (attached to to tether point) and when the child is already seated.A child small enough to need this may be able to get out of it themselves when time to exit the vehicle, but likely won't be able to get themselves into it on their own, at least not completely/correctly. Parents should always check children's safety seats/equipment each time anyhow. Was much easier to transport on a trip with air travel than a big car seat would have been, and didn't have to rent (or count on them actually having) a possibly questionable seat from the rental car company.I don't regret the purchase and if used on one more trip it should at least break even on price vs. two seat rentals from a rental car company.

Makes travel a breeze!
For spring break, we planned an international trip that would require several taxi rides/hired drivers. Bringing our usual forward facing carseat was not feasible. Our daughter is 5years old/41ish inches tall/43lbs. I bought a size small. It was honestly such a breeze to use. We packed it in a backpack and could easily get our daughter in and out of the car. I sat in the backseat with her on all our rides, and she was pretty comfortable the whole 8ish hours we used the vest over the course of a week. I felt very confident that she was safe, and this vest saved us a ton of hassle and stress.I HIGHLY recommend watching several of the RideSafer videos on YouTube to make sure you get the best fit and install. This seat is a bit different from a "normal" carseat (ex the shoulder straps don't need to pass a pinch test, they can be a little loose). Take the time to watch the videos and practice *before* your trip. I did a couple test runs in the house while watching the videos and adjusting straps, then we tested it in the car. At first, I thought it was way too small for her belly, but after some adjustments and watching the videos, it was fine.

Perfect for traveling
Great alternative to a bulky car seat. Traveled by train for vacation and was able to use this vest for Uber and taxi rides.

its hooooookay
we got it for my 6 year old daughter, was uncomfortable for her. The back harness that clips onto the back of the seat was really awkward making it far more uncomfortable. Perhaps this'll be more useful for kids that are little bigger. Otherwise, the build quality was good
