100 Doo-Wop Classics / Various

There are about 20 obscure songs in this set that you probably wont like.
This is an edited review. I gave the first after I was asked to review but I had only listened to about 8 songs on the first CD. The sound is very good and I know those songs. I have all these popular songs and more, but these are all on the same set . Now, after playing all 4 CD's I see that there are a lot of songs that never made it. Flops I would say. One the second cd there are about 8 flops in a row near the end, but "I love you" by the Volumes after that makes up for that. All the rest of the CD's have about 5-7 flops scattered in there. I don't know who made up this set? There are some awesome songs and good value, but about 25% flops. This is my story and I am sticking to it.

Step into the time machine
100 Original recordings. Good song selections. Some rare songs that are not on any collection. You can almost hear legendary ALAN Freed, Paul Sherman, Murray the K Kaufman Cousin Brucie introducing the songs. Great Bargain Priced and not having to stack your 45 's or 78s on your turntable. Love the art work when you open the cd and see the 45's with the original LABELS like Old Town, Dootone,Laurire, Mercury End, Gee, etc. After Reading 2 Other Reviwers, I Want To Add The Sound Quality Of Recording Is Excellent. AND The Reviewer Who Said That He Only Recognized 6 Songs Obviously Did Not Grow Up In The N.Y. N.J. Philly Neighborhoods Where They Songs Became Classics. How Could Anyone Not Know Songs like The Book Of Love, Gee, There's A Moon Out Tonight In The Still Of The Night The GREAT Pretender To Name A Few. IF YOU LOVE REAL Doo-Wop This Is The A Must.

Dissapointing
Many of the selections are of poor sound quality as if they were recorded in a bad studio; scratchy sounds in the background, variable volume, etc. So sad.

Very few good song choices
With the exception of the first 3 songs and the last 3, the rest were songs I had never heard of and did not like at all. Disappointed.

Great selection! Great music! Great value!
My wife loves this disc and has it in her car so I don't get to put it in mine.

great selection
If you are looking for something that sounds like your radio did when you were cruising the boulevard in the early 60's this is a great addition.

Were classic then not now see a lot of these groups long gone .
All the same and not all enjoyable did at one time used to buy many of these CDs for rarity tracks and unfortunately as usual many never appear.Try to find certain ones with a Soul influence we know those of us a Motown Collectors. Many of these remerged in to Motown groups under different names or joined other Motown groups and labels.

Great as a back up to my vinyl
Considering I have most of these tunes on the ORIGINAL American-issued labels on vinyl and most of those bought when first released. To replace some of my worn-out singles would nearly bankrupt me, so I decided to add this CD set as back up and save some stylus wear.I am now 72 years young and still love each and everyone of these tracks and artists. So I will sit back and as I listen, look at the 8 x 10s of The Capris, The Penguins, The Drifters, and the many others that still hang on my walls. My thanks go to Not Now Music Co.

great doo-wop
100 doo-wop songs on 4 discs. The majority of doo-wop fans will have most of these tracks, although there are one or two surprises. Would suit anyone wishing to be introduced to this wonderful music
