After troubleshooting a solution to keep our records upright on a shelf we found a perfect solution. Book ends kept sliding but these are perfect. I would recommend making sure books (or records) arent kept super tight or loose as these may cause damage if not careful. Or put a book you don't care about on the ends. Other than that these look great and won't slide.

These bookends are very functional. They will not only hold books in place, but will also allow extra piece of mind that books won’t fall over on a shelf, or allow to use the very top shelf of a bookcase where there are no sides to hold books in place. I am very happy with these well made and sturdy bookends.

It came with a few minor cracks, but it does its job good so I’m keeping it and will be ordering a few more for my other shelves.

I am quite pleased with these bookends because they have created very study bookends for floating shelves we built onto the walls in my studio. Now there is no longer a risk that my sketchpads, art books, and beading magazines will fall off the ends. This is a great design to hold the bookends firmly in place. There are no assembly instructions included but it is easy enough to figure out and simple to complete in less that a minute or two. Make sure there is plenty of room below the shelf for the screw-on portion of the bookends. Unlike the other reviewer at this time, I did not see any cracks in the bookmarks.
