Great sound and connectivity, stylish design, affordable, high-performance bookshelf speakers.
I recently ordered the 'AIYIMA S500 Active Bookshelf Speakers' (priced at 108.99), and I’ve been really impressed with their performance for the price. They arrived well-packaged, and I was pleased to see they came with a remote control and all the necessary accessories, making setup a breeze.Setting them up was straightforward, with clear instructions that didn’t require any tools or expertise. The speakers have a solid, well-built feel, and their compact design fits perfectly on my desk without taking up too much space. They’re made from high-quality materials, and the sleek finish gives them a premium look that blends seamlessly into my home setup. The sound quality is fantastic for a pair of speakers at this price point. With a 120W output, consisting of a 1-inch mid-treble speaker and a 4-inch woofer, they deliver clear, balanced audio that handles everything from classical music to modern tracks with ease.I’ve been using them for my TV, computer, and even gaming, and the sound is consistently rich and immersive. The SUB output is a great feature—I haven’t paired them with a subwoofer yet, but I can see how it would enhance the bass even further.I love the versatility of the connectivity options. The Bluetooth 5.0 works flawlessly, allowing me to connect my phone or laptop wirelessly with no issues. There are also coaxial, optical, and RCA inputs, so I can easily switch between devices like my TV and computer. I’ve also tried playing music directly from a USB flash drive, which was a convenient feature and worked without any hassle. The remote control makes it easy to adjust the volume or switch inputs from across the room, which I’ve found really practical. At £108.99, these speakers are a brilliant addition to my home audio setup. They offer great sound, strong connectivity, and a stylish design, making them perfect for anyone looking for affordable yet high-performing bookshelf speakers for home use, whether for music, TV, or gaming.I’d definitely recommend them!

Pretty average but does the job
I'm a bit of an audiophile and have several pairs of speakers from companies such as Bowers and Wilkins. See I have a very compact pair of speakers and a subwoofer from Cambridge audio which has done me well for a number of years.I was interested to see what a full size set of speakers but sound like on my computer. My first impression was that of surprise; these are a lot bigger than I had imagined but still pretty small for bookshelf speakers. They look alright.. nothing special and its obvious that the casings are cheap plastic from a distance. They're not particularly heavy, they have a plastic casing rather than what which is used for higher end products. No grilles are provided. These are active speakers meaning that they are self powered so not needing an external amplifier. I connected these to my phone using Bluetooth which was relatively straightforward and at low volumes the sound is quite good, there's little bass, as might be expected but mid range and trouble were respectable. At higher volumes the music became very loose and boomy as might be expected due to the cheap casing and inexpensive driver.A basic but functional remote is provided (no batteries though) which overs all the functions. It looks a bit cheap but OK.There are several input options including USB, optical and RCA. There is no way of connecting these speakers directly to your PC via USB… the USB appears to be only for USB sticks. This is a bit of a shame as other similar products do have the inbuilt DAC.These speakers are certainly not for someone who wants good quality hifi music: if you want an upgrade from cheap compact Bluetooth speakers all want something better for your PC at a reasonable price these are a pretty good option. At an RRP of 109 quid there are plenty of alternatives available including non-brand “big-box” active speakers as-well as compact units. Having said all that… I’m using them at the moment to smash-out some techno remixes and they sound pretty good! It loses a star or 2 for not having PC USB connection ,not looking particularly nice and being a bit pricey vs other alternatives.
