I was not satisfied since the last BluesHarp went out of tune in ...
This was my first time to purchase something other than a Hohner BluesHarp. I was not satisfied since the last BluesHarp went out of tune in like 3 weeks and just before a gig. Well, the Seydel is significantly heavier and quite frankly “feels” like an instrument in a way that the BluesHarp does not. I am very satisfied with the quality of the product and the sound. Seriously I can’t hear a big difference in the sound but it is louder and seems more durable. It is expensive, about twice the cost as the BluesHarp but if it is any indication I plan on replacing all of my harps in each key with this brand. All I can say is try one and you will know what I mean. I have been playing BluesHarps since 1982.

It's just the best all-around diatonic
I have several diatonics in my harp collection and all are excellent instruments while being quite different from each other. I have several Suzuki promasters (valved), a Hohner Special 20, and this Seydel 1847 Noble. As soon as I took the Seydel out of the box I could pick up on the quality of the harp. Then, when I blew a few notes, I knew. This is the best. Of my three Suzuki's, two have one hole that doesn't either blow or draw as it should. I ll take care of it, but for the price, should I have to? The Hohner surprised me. Its the lightest of the four brands I have, but it blows a rich sound, and does it easily and smoothly blow and draw, so I was thinking I'll probably end up standardizing on the Hohner going forward. Until today. The Seydel is heavier, like the Suzuki, blows as beautifully and easily as the Hohner, and shows better quality control than the others in function and fit and finish. I'm keeping the harps I have, but as I fill the holes from here on, its Seydel for me.
