Pretty enough to show off!
It looks like appliance rather than a trashcan. It is so convenient, too. The extra products, the deodorizer and special bags are an extravagance but make life so much simpler. It's hard to believe but I've actually invited friends over to see the new addition to my kitchen --- it's gotten rave reviews! The lid opening is beyond smooth. Having a place for both trash and recyclables is handy. The price is high but I'm worth it and I'm confident that the quality and sturdiness of the product makes it likely to last for a very long time.

Probably the nicest looking garbage can on the market
It’s expensive, but it’s so worth it. I looked for a trash can for legit almost 4 months. There was only one trash can that came close to this, but the quality was much worse for the price. This trashcan was by far the nicest looking, and most well built one I’ve found. Simplehuman is expensive but they make really nice looking stuff. It comes with a warranty, and they also sell replacement parts. It’s very well built and great quality. Over a year now and through a move it looks new. I Ended up buying a second one for recycling too.Edit: About 2 years and the trash can still look and functions like new. I sometimes will force close it and I used to actually lug this up my stairs to throw cat litter in it from 3 boxes. Would have upto probably 10- 20 lbs cat litter in it, lugging down the stairs. I accidentally smacked it against my wood post. Use it as a main now and it looks and functions as brand new.

Saved My Sanity (and Possibly My Marriage)
Let me set the scene: I used to think our old trash/recycling setup was fine. My husband, however, hated it with fiery passion. The bins were awkward, the bags impossible to remove without dragging the whole thing out, and worst of all—he never remembered to put a new bag in afterward.I thought this simplehuman trash can was overpriced nonsense… until it went on sale. Now? It looks great, the bags come out easily, and thanks to the built-in bag holder, my husband actually puts a new bag in every time—without being reminded. We both don’t mind taking out the trash anymore. Honestly, this thing might’ve saved us from weekly arguments and potential marriage counseling.Highly recommend if you’re tired of being passive-aggressively mad about garbage.

Tidy kitchen
My husband was piling recycling up on the kitchen counter. I tried all kinds of different systems to stop having 500 water bottles and cans stacked on my countertop and nothing worked—except for this trash can. And it’s surprisingly big enough for all our trash needs too. And I love the trash bag system. In my old trashcan, my mom would stuff my trash can to the point that when I’d remove the bag I could hardly tie it closed but with this system she hasn’t been able to stuff it more than the bag can close. It’s mom and husband proof!! I also like the little air freshener thing in there—it uses natural ingredients and it really works to keep the smell down. I also haven’t had any fruit fly issues with this new trashcan because it closes really well. Zero complaints! I did have to return one trashcan order because it arrived banged up despite the box looking okay but Amazon exchanged it with no issue.

Better Built than Older One
Way better functionality than the one with a plastic bin inside. That one did not fit the Q bags despite the recommendation and the plastic bin tore at the corners making it near impossible to remove the bag without ripping. One thing, I must have missed the instructions on how to prop open and close the lid to remove the bag. I think there is a pair of horns that you have to squeeze to release the lid.
