Many people have proposed guidelines for using the term "ketogenic," but no authority offers an official definition that's widely accepted. So, instead, we depend heavily on consumer research.We discovered that most ketogenic-enthusiastic consumers limit the number of net carbs they consume, usually adopting between 20 and 50 net daily carbs as their personal limit for achieving ketosis. That's about the same range as the number of net carbs in a slice of traditional cake. In contrast, Swerve Bake Mixes limit a single serving to a much smaller number of net carbs when compared to traditional sweets, so folks don't have to limit their entire net carb daily allowance to a single treat for the day, offering them much more flexibility. And, yes, we do include a tiny amount of tapioca starch in each box: this works as a terrific functional ingredient allowing consumers to enjoy something that seems very familiar and delicious - but with many fewer net carbs.

Q: it says 2 net cabs per serving.. but 14 carbs- 8 sugar alcohols grams and 3 fiber is 3. how do they come up with 2?

My box says 3 net carbs. Net carbs = total carbs - fiber - erythritol 14 - 3 - 8 = 3

Q: Has anyone tried freezing this cake? If so, how is the taste and texture after thawing?

Ha ha ha ... the cake never seems to last long enough to be frozen. Having said that, I would imagine that it would freeze about as well as other gluten free baked goods.

Q: What kind if oil do l add when preparing the chocolate cake mix?

I've used Light Olive Oil once. Avacado Oil once. And a mix of the two once. All came out wonderful.
