I absolutely LOVED my KevenAnna Trekking Poles that I ordered specifically for an eight-day backpacking trip in MT last month. I've never sprung for the price of a pole before, but I've never flown anywhere specifically to hike before, either and these were affordable. They were a little too long to fit in my (carry-on size) checked bag, but I strapped them to the side of my backpack and went right thru airport security for my international flight no problem.Flew to Calgary, drove down to MT, and hiked away! Poles are very lightweight, sturdy, durable, adjustable, wonderful! And there's TWO of them! One of my friends that met me up there for the trip used the other one, then bought her own she liked it so much! I'm 5'3" and had no issues with the size of the pole. It was Just Right! Until. When I tied them onto my backpack as before and tried to get OUT of Canada, they told me that I couldn't carry them on - I could either ship them home (cost more than I paid for the poles) or leave them there. I had to leave my absolutely perfect KevenAnna poles behind at the airport in Calgary. Having worn out my joints in competitive sports, I have to have something to help reduce the shock when hiking downhill on rugged terrain, so I'm back to using my heavier hiking stick. Poor me! Word from the wise: Figure out a way to put them in your checked bag when you fly!

Great walking stick
Have been looking for something useful for my morning walks and finally found it in this walking/hiking stick! I have a balance issue with my legs as well as long distances and this was the ideal solution. We also have snakes and other critters in our area of North Florida so I now have a way to fend them off if necessary. This was a great buy and I am very happy with this product!

Sturdy and adjustable
Sturdy, comfortable, and adjustable. I took this with me during a recent visit overseas. It was a breeze through airport screening and very easy to store in the airplane's overhead bins due to its compact size (when fully retracted). I did a lot of walking during my trip and this performed well. It supported my weight and was also very comfortable. Oh yeah, it's also very easy to adjust so getting on and off the bus and subway trains weren't a problem at all. I recommend this product to whoever is in the market for a walking stick... umm, I meant; Trekking Poles.

Great help with balance!
I'm dealing w/peripheral neuropathy and balance issues. Walker cumbersome for some outings. I'm tall and bend over too much using cane. Walking stick helps me stand straighter, and this one is strong & sturdy. Really satisfied w/ quality.Only issue I have is it doesn't break down enough to fit in my small backpack. Would definitely buy another if needed.

I'm sure this is great for walking on terrain that is not really that ...
I haven't had a chance to put the pole through a real test, using it to help me over a rocky river bank and down to the water to fish. It appears to be well made and functions per instruction. I thought the diameter of the pole would have been a bit larger. It looked larger in the picture. I'm sure this is great for walking on terrain that is not really that rugged. I would suggest if your going through some really rough places, you might look for something more sturdy. I believe this pole would be perfect if you are just needing it to steady your balance or walking down a well used path in a park. It would sure beat not having anything and the price is great. It's pretty.....

Good stick, but the rubber tip does not last
A week before going on vacation my old walking stick broke. I ordered this one. It arrived on time. I was only planning to use it on paved surfaces, so I packed only the round rubber tip and left other accessories home. After 2 days walking through an amusement park the sharp tip of the walking stick poked through the rubber tip. It made it virtually unusable and even dangerous to use on tiled surfaces. I improvised by sticking something down the rubber tip but I did not fell safe using it. After I came back home, I examined the rubber tip of my old walking stick and noticed that it was reinforced with a metal washer and some additional rubber against the sharp tip of the stick. I ordered a set of rubber tips and looking forward to keep using this stick again.

A bargain, but you skimp on some higher quality features in other brands.
Positives: Cheap; fairly light; fairly portable; stayed put after it was tightened (i.e., it didn't shorten while trekking).Negatives: As your hand gets a little sweaty, it will start to rub and slip back and forth on the handle, causing redness that will eventually lead to a blister. I caught the problem early and swapped hands back and forth. I will give it another try but will wrap tennis grip around the handle to see if that prevents the problem from recurring. Also, while it does shorten for transport, it is still somewhat long so it won't fit into some bags unless you completely disassemble the three components. But that is not difficult.

First trekking pole
I am absolutely loving this pole! Took it on a hike today with lots of bouldering and elevation gain. I love the shock absorption and the handle feels great in my hand (went on a four hour hike and felt great even at the end). Very sturdy, telescoping allows for height adjustment. Of course I love the color, I was very pleased to find a pink one, especially for the price!
