Ames True Temper 1114200 16-Inch EZ Dig Mini Pick Scoop

I read reviews on this tool and decided that for the price I too needed one. Well the reviews were spot on. This tool is great! It works beautifully for planting flowers and plants when you need to dig a hole about 9" x 9". The pick end works beautifully for chipping and loosening the sides and the other ends scrapes the soil across the bottom. All you need is a small gardeners shovel to remove the loose dirt or your hands. I plant a lot of flowers in our yard and this tool has made it so much easier. I simply love it and highly recommend it to all. One of the best $17 I have ever spent.Update 8/18/14 - I was telling (selling) some friends about this tool and how much they needed one too! I then decided I needed to go back and update my previous review. If you plant flowers this tool is for you. I am not kidding you. It makes planting flowers so quick and easy, especially the small potted ones. I have used this tool so many times now that I can't fathom how I did gardening without it. Buy it as I am sure you will appreciate it and keep it in your garden kit too. Hands down, one of the best tools I have ever bought!

Great mini tool. I use mine for digging certain areas while metal detecting. It is light enough that it does not wear you out that fast when swinging it over and over and yet it is built strong. It almost seems like it is self sharpening as I have yet to sharpen it even though it still eats through thick roots and rocks like butter. I've used it a lot over the last several months and there are no signs of it wearing out.

I haven't got around to using this well constructed digging tool yet. Bought it for metal detecting, and possibly some garden work. Got only one complaint, seemed the shovel end does not have a edge. Nothing I can't fix. Otherwise very good solid digging tool.

This is a gardening tool that EVERY gardener should have, especially if you have a problem with different grasses in your garden or flower bed that you do not want in there. A friend had one using it and I was so impressed with the amount of time it saved. I have zoysia grass that was making big inroads into my flower bed and it normally takes a whole day to weed the stuff out. We worked on it together and were totally done in 2 1/2 hours. I was so impressed how it will go under the root bottom, then lift up the clod, shake off the excess dirt, and keep going on. I had been using a hand-held spade and a weed knife/cutter, taking me hours; not any more with this tool. I bought two of these and gave one to a friend. She was impressed! This is one of the great mining tools ever made. I have Eastman picks for hard rock but when you want to dig for gold material in sand, gravel, clay, etc., this tool is awesome. The curved scoop works great for putting material straight from the ground to a screen or your pan. It is very well made and will last a lifetime. This is the 3rd one I have purchased because my 9 yr old grandson likes to use it and leave it wherever he is digging.Going to put bright color paint on the handle of this one.

I like to use this as I walk around in the woods,. Its gi for digging some rocks plants, putting out ,a camp fire , good design,

I bought this to dig shallow trenches for feeder lines on my watering system. Works great for light duty projects, such as mine. Easy to scoop the dirt with the one end and trench with the pick. It is solid and well made. Handle is too short for a standing position, which I knew before my purchase. I certainly would recommend this product for smaller projects in the yard.
