Pros and Cons - Mostly Pro though.
All in all this is a very good machine. It does have good points and some not so good points. But all in all, I think the good points do outweigh the bad points. The most important point is that it filters water. In the event of an emergency, this was a huge selling point for me and continues to be an overriding feature in keeping the machine. I also appreciate the bottom loader since I am older and it would be easy to twist your back out of shape putting a 5 gallon jug on top. Another huge plus is that when I had a top loader, there was slime where the bottle articulates with the machine. Here, that is not an issue because it is self-cleaning.Hot is hot. Cold is cold. I don't see enough difference in this function to comment except it works fine. Now for the cons. There are two spotlights that never turn off up where the water comes out. It is like having a big night light on 24/7. That bothers me, but since my room isn't in the kitchen, I can live with it. But still, I don't like it. There should be a switch to turn it off. You can't get any 1/2 gallon pitchers filled without significantly tipping them. And lastly, the noise. I really hate white noise in appliances. If there was a deal buster, it would be the noise. But, it isn't all the time. When I fill my morning cup with hot water for coffee, it sounds like a jet taking off (for those who have ever lived close to an airport. . .) It lasts less than a minute though. Other than that, I can't hear it unless it is cleaning or cooling/heating. That part sounds like a normal appliance and doesn't last long.

Product is Great - Instructions could be better
This water cooler does everything it should do, and does it well. The water from the cooler is ice cold, and the hot water is steaming. As you can see the unit itself contains the bottle, so you get a classier look to your space, which we definitely appreciate. Some people have said that they do not fancy the glowing lights on the front of the unit, but we find them pleasing. We are using bottled water that we pick up from the local Home Depot, but if you choose, you can refill the bottles with tap water and utilize the included Brita filter for better taste. That should amount to some decent savings.I will update this review in a month or two after we've gotten a few bottles through this thing. It would be a five star review if it were not for the instructions which appear to be a translation from a foreign language, and can be confusing.***************************UPDATE 2/12/15Ok, so it has been definitely more than a few months and many, many bottles. We could not be happier with this classy unit, and hence are updating to 5 stars. It has performed flawlessly, and looks sharp in the kitchen. Would definitely purchase again.

ICE COLD WATER WITH A FEW GLITCHES
The product works very well, the problem is the setup and instructions:PRO1. Ice cold water2. ozone cleaning every 4 hours3. Well constructed housing.CON1. Badly written instructions, the owner manual and the quick start guide is different, these instructions should have been written and tested on someone with a better grasp of american english. I have spent a lot of time with people, where english was their second language, and they could write a lot better than what is in this manual. They start off by telling you the steps you need to follow, starting with step 1, and then in sub text they describe the complete process, then in step 2 they repeat the steps from the begining of step one, making you think that you missed some previous instruction.2. The filter setup is not even addressed in the entire owner manual, they assume you know how to set it up, if you do not attach the filter cover before you start cleaning or use the water cooler for the first time, you will have a lot of water spilling into the inside of the cooler, this is done by pulling down the filter assembly and screwing on the water filter cover, if you want to use filter water you must uncrew the cover first then install the filter, then screw the cover back together then screw this assembly into the filter housing, then push it back into the vertical position.3. The manual does not tell you what specific type of filter to use, it is implied in the order decription that you can use a brita pitcher filter, and you should change it every 90 days or 15 bottles of water, the problem with this statement is that all single brita filters must be changed every 60 days or 40 gallons of water, there are no 90 days (single filter) brita filters.I gave this water cooler 3 stars which is a stretch, I wanted to be fair, this is a good watercooler, but the instructions take away from the quality and performance of the unit. I would recommend that the maker of this unit rewrite the manual, and discuss filter setup and use in a filtering based watercooler.

Work-around for a Design Imperfection
The heat dissipated from the condenser coil migrates to the water bottle. This applies to all coolers of this design. (Refer to image showing the open door in the product description). Over time if you use the same bottle, this causes a mould to grow inside it. Unfortunately, the restricted space in the compartment, especially with a ten litre bottle, does not allow the installation of an insulating sheet. This will cause a restricted air flow through the coil & cause a cooler failure due to high compressor head pressure. If your bottle is smaller try to keep it as far away from the coil as possible. In any case periodically disinfect by swishing around a small amount of laundry bleach with water in the empty water bottle. Empty the bleach solution the fill the bottle with clean drinking water. Don't forget to wipe down the exterior of the pick-up tube with the bleach solution as well.

No More Lugging Water Bottles From The Store
Prior to the purchase of the "Glacial Self Cleaning Hot & Cold Hidden Bottle Water Cooler with Brita Filter Cartridge" I searched the Internet for product reviews. Since this water cooler is a new model for this year (2013) there were no reviews available. Through research I discovered Electrotemp Technologies a Canadian Company was the manufacturer of this Brand of cooler and others with their own factory in China.I spent quite awhile researching different water coolers and Brands I was drawn to this particular Brand and model for a few reasons...(1) A bottom-loading unit.(2) Hot & Cold water(3) Ice ring technology(4) Self contained Brita water filter(5) Self-Cleaning(6) Stainless Steel FinishI placed my order on Wednesday March 13, 2013 through Amazon's marketplace being the best price the internet has to offer. The item arrived at my door on Monday March 18, 2013 by UPS. The cooler was well packaged for shipment and arrived undamaged.Following the directions in the manual I placed the cooler up right and left it for 4 hours. During which time I read the manual cover to cover and registered the warranty online. After waiting the 4 hours I washed the unit inside and out with warm soapy water. Filled an empty 18lt.(5gal) water bottle and attached the probe to the bottle. The manual states in 5 different places to make sure probe is seated onto the water bottle. This is something that worried me, as the probe did not seem to be seated onto the bottle properly. After several attempts I called the contact number for assistance. Apparently the probe is universal but does not seat firmly onto all types of water bottles, and may sit loosely around the neck. This is not an issue as long as the probe draws water to the reservoirs. I sid the water bottle into the compartment, closed the door and plugged the unit in, filled and rinsed the reservoirs twice as instructed in the manual. I then slid the water bottle out of the lower compartment to gain access to the Brita water filter housing, which is located at the upper right hand side at the back of the compartment. The manual does not give instructions on how to install the Brita water filter. Here is how you do it... grasp the housing unit and pull it down and out towards you, it swings down turning the water flow off from the probe. While in the lowered position twist (about a ' turn) and pull out the housing. Unscrew the cover and give the two pieces a quick rinse under a tap and then slide the tapered end of the Brita filter into the holder until it fits snug. Screw on the cover and return the housing to the water cooler. Put water bottle into the compartment and close the door. Plug in the water cooler and in about 20 min. you will have piping hot filtered water. It takes about 1 hour to build a ring of ice in the cold-water reservoir. Although I have only had this water cooler a couple of days I'm very happy with it. I filled an empty water bottle straight from our kitchen cold water tap. The filtered cold water is well child and "tastes clean, fresh and cold". The filtered hot water makes a good cup of instant coffee or cocoa and is hot enough to steep a tea bag or prepare instant Cup-A-Soup.I like the piano key dispensing and their placement on the top has them out of reach of toddlers. The hot water key is child resistant. The dispensing nozzles are at nice heights no need to bend over to draw water from them. The unit looks and feels rich and high-end with its sturdy stainless steel body and very little use of plastic. Placement of the water bottle into a hidden compartment is very easy, no lifting of heavy bottles and they are out of sight. The Brita water filter means no more lugging heavy water bottles from the water store. A weekly chore I will not miss. The compressor makes very little noise when it comes on our refrigerator is much louder. The pump is rather loud but runs just a few seconds while filling the reservoirs and not really bothersome. The digital display on the front of the unit shows the time, empty water bottle warning, self-cleaning schedule and when to replace Brita water filter. From delivery at my door to the first glass of cold refreshing filtered water was about 5' hours. I would happily recommend this water cooler and Classic_Appliance to family and friends or any one looking for a bottom loading water cooler. I will update this review in 30 days if there are any issues to report.

We purchased one of these from Amazon through Deal Kings. It was a great purchase, received lots of compliments from customers and we had no problem with it until about 16 months in, when the internal compressor stopped working. Unfortunately, because we purchased it from an unauthorized seller (accidentally), Electrotemp was not able to honour the warranty, but was very helpful through the process of offering suggestions for what could be wrong, as well as directing us to the proper authorized seller if we wanted to re-purchase. We liked the unit and the service that we received so much that we bought another and we are very happy with it.

Very happy
Just received mine today after only 36 hours from my order. Delivery dude even came all the way up in my stair- that what I call door-to-door fast delivery. Product and box intact. After using it for a few hours and whilr cleaning it, I could notice write away that product is well made and strong. Design will fit well with your kitch if you have other stanless appliance.Only little issue : I cannot get the screw back after removing it from the hot drain water in order to clean the machine. i I I noticed that the srew itself is not uniform. Not a big deal, I will change it tomorrow when I will get time. Read previous review to know how to install the Brita filter .

I got one of these for my home office, and it's an excellent cooler. My only complaints are a couple of nitpicks:* The pump runs almost every time you pour water, and it's loud. I have this in a home office and if I'm working late I risk waking people up in the next room when the pump kicks in. I'm probably going to look into replacing the pump with something quieter.* The clock seems to run fast, every month my clock drifts 5 minutes ahead and it's annoying to reset it.
