There are a lot of Awl’s out there. This one fits nicely in your hand, while others seem very skinny. I wanted something with a nice wooden handle and a solid metal point. That is exactly what I received. I have large hands, and the skinny auto plunge models just don’t work for me. This one is perfect and will last you a long time.

This awl is sharp and holds its point nicely under a lot of heavy use in the woodshop!

I needed a new tapered awl for my Leather shop and in the world of leather craft, tools and machines are insanely priced, and for hand tools that I need in a hurry I search Amazon as I have come across certain hand tools that are amazing and last but at a tremendous savings. That being said I needed a tapered awl and needed it fast. I took a look at this awl and thoroughly read the description and took a chance. When I opened the box it came in and dropped the awl into my hand I knew right off the bat that this was a high quality, well made, and sturdy tool just from the instant feel alone and when I looked it over I was not mistaken! Time is the ultimate proof of worth however this tool looks and feels like it will be around long after I am dust.1 recommendation I have for the company is to market this for Leather working instead of wood working. Hope this helps someone make the same great decision I did.P.S. The metal taper is solid, not hollow junk.

If you need a pointy thing, I recommend it.

Good awl, I like the weight. The handle would be more comfortable in the palm if it had a bulbous handle like the rasp handle.

The quality is good but similar quality at lower price available at tool merchants (not box stores!)

This can be used no matter what size hole you need this is your tool. This punch goes through two thicknesses of fleese no problem.
