It works as indicated, I needed to be able to have powered USB and this adapter allowed for it. It does not get hot as other I have used and charges my mp3 as if it was connected directly to the charger.It is small enough to take it with me and does not create clutter around the desk

Works as advertised. Out of all the hubs and docks I have tried for the Surface Book 2, this one was by far the easiest to use. Just plug and play. It should be instant.Few things to note:1. The product description specifies that the Surface Book 2 and this hub will only support 1 external monitor. It is possible to have 2 external monitors hooked up, but both monitors will show the same thing. If you're looking for a USB-C hub that can support 2 external monitors to show 2 different screens on Surface Book 2, this will not work.2. It does get warm, but hot tub warm at about 104 degrees Fahrenheit.3. The cord USB-C cord is 6 inches long. Might or might not be okay for you.Rating 4 stars instead of 5 simply because of the inability to have 2 external monitors with 2 different screens.Will be using for travel and guests hooking up ethernet, but not for my main set up at home.

This adapter was one of the few with ethernet and a VGA port. Most will not miss this but I work in a school with lousy wifi and a bunch of classrooms with VGA projectors (the audio out port is nice to have too). At home I want the HDMI and card readers. This thing really is a do it all dock. No clue what transfer speeds are like or just how hot it can get before dying but so far this adapter has everything for the price of adapters with less stuff on them. Solid purchase. I hope it lasts forever!

As I'm sure you've already noticed, Amazon is plagued with USB C Hubs that all seem to do the same thing with all the same ports. This can be extremely overwhelming, so before I even get into the review about this one in particular, make sure you do your research to find the best value (price per # of ports).SilkRD's USB C Hub comes with 9 different ports, which are:1) 1 VGA2) 1 HDMI3) 1 Ethernet4) 1 Audio/Mic5) 1 SD Card6) 1 TF SD Card7) 2 USB 3.08) 1 USB C Charging PortBuild quality is good, nothing to particularly rave about, but will do the job. It's very lightweight, so it won't be a burden to carry around, and quite compact coming in at 4 1/8" x 1 7/8". The cord is 6" long.Through my testing with this hub, everything works as you would expect it to work. So, like I said above, take a look at all the ports provided and compare them with the ports of others to get the best bang for you buck. But, rest assured that this USB C Hub will work if you decide to go this route. I will update this review if anything changes!

My company gives me a dell latitude computer. That computer has an HDMI and a type-C USB so I thought that I can use that type-c USB for another monitor. I bought this converter and it works immediately when you plug it in. So now I have three screens working at the same time.The metal material looks nice and it was not heated at all for the past entire week. I will give this one a good review and hope it can last for years.

I have been using this on my HP Spectre because it only has 2 USB C ports and one standard USB. This thing is awesome! It gives me so many extra ports and makes it easy to use any second monitor inputs as needed. It's small enough that I can throw it in my bag if I have to go to meetings and doesn't take up much space. I have had no issues at all with it so far, would recommend!

This is the 3rd different dock I tried (first was dropped by Amazon before delivery, second was faulty) and it is always hit-miss as compatibility with Android is quite tricky and not explicitly listed by most specs. It works with Galaxy S5e, (android 9): Charging, Video, USB. are ok, but I was disappointed that sound works only when video is connected. Galaxy does not have headphone jack, instead comes with dongle. The dock is very warm when connected. I did not test yet with Windows laptop (which I do not expect problems). Good quality nice looking gadget, good finish and details.
