Use for swaging SS fittings
The crimper is designed for use for soft metals like aluminum or copper and not recommended for SS fittings used for installing SS cable. But if used for SS wire/cable fittings, it requires pressure beyond normal hand pressure- unless you have the hands and forearms of Popeye. Due to wall thickness differences of stems and studs of SS wire/cable fittings, different die sizes are used for each which requires some experimentation to achieve a good solid swage. Fortunately, the crimper comes with a good set of dies.

This does work on 3/16" cable end crimps for stair railing
So here's the deal, I changed my old stair railing to cable railing and after a lot of research I decided to go with 3/16" stainless cable because it just comes out looking much more professional. This crimper works very well with the stainless steel crimp ends that I bought for this project. The cutter's for the cable also work, but the trick to using them is to try and cut through the cable, get through a few strands and then rotate the cable 90 degrees and continue cutting, stainless cable is incredibly tough to cut thru, but I did manage to 10 cables to complete my job, I would have much rather had a longer lever arm set of cutters as it would have been a lot easier to cut through.

cutters don't last
I gave it 3 stars for the cutters not the crimping tool . After six cuts of 1/8 stainless steel wire the cutters were not working well . The cuts were not clean the tool started to smash the wire and would not cut through the cable after 9 cuts I had to get another pair of cutters . The crimper worked well . I made aprox. 60 crimps and it worked well , it even came with an extra set of seals . Again the stars are based on the cutters not the crimper .

Your 3/16 of an inch dies did not hold up.
I liked how easy and smooth it worked, but my 3/16 of an inch dies did not hold up like I thought it should after about 50 times using the dies was rounded off inside I wish I could’ve had two sets of dies for 3/16 of an inch.

You will be replacing the hydraulic seal ring with the spare.
I’m a railing fabricator for 45 years . I bought this tool because it was compact to crimp a 9 row 60 ft long cable railing on site because the railing had to be assembled after it was brought up the elevator. The hydraulic seal started leaking halfway through the job. It worked very well up till then. We didn’t need that problem on a ledge 13 stories up.

Not up to the job for 3/16th cable
The swaging tool doesn't seem strong enough without @ 30 pumps to properly crimp 3/16th fittings and the cutting tool IS NOT going to cut 3/16ths cable except maybe one strand at a time. Maybe if you're the Terminator AND you have all day. haha. I'd advise you to say Hasta la vista to this tool set unless maybe you are using 1/8th cable and have serious doubts about that as far as the cutter is concerned. I'm now really skeptical of most of these apparently Chinese made cable rail products advertised for 3/16th cable . But I will admit the 3/16th cable is really stout! Too bad the sleeves are too tight for it, and the swaging tool and the "cable cutter....hahahahahah.... really that's a cable cutter? anyway too bad all those parts and necessities aren't up to the job. You will not be able to do even a relatively small deck railing job with these tools if you're using 3/16ths cable. And beware the sleeves as well. They're too small for 3/16ths cable if it is even slightly loosened at the cut. See my comment on the Bilco? sleeves listed for 3/16ths cable.

Works good
I bought this to do 1/8 inch stainless steel cable raling. Works as expected.

Disappointed in quality and you sent some used stuff
It would of been nice to have one that has not already been used. I payed for a new one not a used one. The wire cutters are really disappointing. Iam cutting the metal wire with the biffer because the cutters can’t cut

Not a quality tool
Not a great performing tool, would not recommend this for use on 1/8 cable systems.
