The Anker Wireless Keyboard Cover has made my iPad an essential part of every foray from home
I have to say that this Anker Ultra-Slim Bluetooth Wireless Aluminum Keyboard & Cover is an impression little configuration. From its' handsome, efficient packaging to the ease of pairing (the case to the iPad, as well as the pairing Bluetooth-wise), the Anker Keyboard Cover is a winner. It's a 2-piece set-up: the keyboard and the USB charging cord. Very simple. A powerful magnetic strip along the spine of the keyboard takes a firm hold of the iPad to make it a case / cover situation. The way that this non-Apple device melds so seamlessly with the iPad is to be applauded. When you are ready to use the keyboard, separate the two and place the iPad in the molded groove so it stands upright like a laptop screen. I find the key size to be adequate for the purpose of the keyboard; after all, I want this set-up so I don't have to cart around a full-size laptop. They make some click-y noises during typing but, again, this set-up isn't for writing a novel. It's for use on a cruise, where I am just trying to answer a few emails between Mojitos. The price is right. The configuration is simple. I'm very happy with my selection of the Anker Ultra-Slim Bluetooth Wireless Aluminum Keyboard & Cover.

Let me start by saying that this is a very nice device, the criticisms below are just suggestions for improvement.1. AppearanceThe keyboard is slim and appears well made. The back is silver just like iPad's shell, except that it's plastic. The keyboard on the front is black with nice crisp lettering. The box it came in is very nicely designed, and contains a micro USB charging cord.2. ConnectionIt connected quickly and painlessly. However if you intend to use it with more than one device be prepared to manually go into iPad settings and connecting to the keyboard once you switch devices - it seems to be looking for the last one used. As long as you use it with the same device, it will connect automatically once you turn it on.3. TypingTyping is fast and for most part, easy. The first day I kept missing characters because I did not apply enough pressure to the keyboard. Either I got better with time, or the keys have been "worked in" but today there's a marked improvement. It also helps to have the keyboard resting on a hard surface.I am typing just as fast, if not faster, using the soft keyboard. I don't tink any external keyboard that's the same size as the iPad Mini would improve my typing speed. So if you want an external keyboard in order to type faster, you probably need a larger one. The real advantage of having an external keyboard is to free up the screen.Due to the small form factor some of the functions have to be accessed via Fn button. One small critique - they are using Shift for the symbols < and > but Fn for ' and ". Since the last two are far more often used, and Shift + button is a more natural combo for someone used to a big keyboard, I would do it the other way around. Really not a biggie, though.Lastly, the smooth plastic backing makes it a bit slippery on smooth surfaces like a table. Anker should consider adding a rubberized strip there.4. DocumentationThe user guide found in the box was very brief. It has enough info to connect and start using the keyboard, but given that the majority of users are probably also using Windows, having a link to the most common Apple keyboard shortcuts would help.4. Using as iPad caseThis is one area where I have mixed feelings about the design choice. In order to use it as iPad case, you can't have any other cases on your iPad. Which means that the aluminum back of the device is exposed and will inevitably get scratched. Now, I know there are films designed to be applied to the back, but I never used them and they won't provide the same level of protection as a hard case. I wish Anker had provided a thin protective sleeve to hold the keyboard and iPad in when not in use. There's a thin slot in the keyboard that you can insert your iPad in, making the keyboard act like a stand. Because the slot is barely thicker than the iPad itself, it probably won't work with most protective backing films. I also find the angle at which the iPad sits a tad awkward - I wish it was tilted further back. I am medium height, 5'10" and I think this was designed for someone short. This is less of an issue when using iPad in Portrait orientation, but I prefer Landscape for typing. The keyboard is supposed to work as a front cover, attached to iPad with a small magnetic strip on a swivel. It works fine for that, however you need to take it off if you want to use your iPad without using the keyboard as it only opens 180 deg like a book, not comfortable holding for a long time. It would be great if the keyboard could be also attached to the back of iPad so that it didn't have to be set aside. In the end, I decided to keep my old slim case and use the keyboard as purely an external standalone accessory. I will be looking for a slim sleeve to put it in.5. ConclusionIt's an inexpensive, stylish and well functioning keyboard, with some room for improvement. Since I can't give it 4 1/2 stars it gets 5.

Great "little" keyboard
Bought two of these keyboards as gifts for my grandsons. They were easy to link to their iPad minis, the keyboard "touch" was excellent, and most importantly my grandsons love them and are using them every day. The keyboard is a little small for adult hands, though useable, but they seem perfect for their younger hands. Moreover, about two weeks after buying them I got an email from Anker to remind me that the keyboards are guaranteed for 18 months and if we have any trouble they will stand behind them. That's outstanding customer service, and hopefully we won't need to use it. Overall an excellent purchase and a wonderful way to get two young men to learn touch typing (also found an excellent App to teach them touch typing, a skill that will pay off over the years).

Wow . . . Not only the products but AnkerDirect's service is INCREDIBLE.
I bought an Anker bluetooth keyboard for $25.00 that worked with my iPad Mini. It looked good, felt well-constructed, and worked reliably with the iPad. But I rated it 3 because it was provided only a cover for the iPad screen--no protection for the back. I also was not totally enthusiastic about a couple of design decisions, but I decided to keep it because really liked the price, the size, and the feel of the keyboard. Then I get an email from AnkerDirect, apologizing for the "inconvenience" and suggesting that maybe I'd chosen the wrong product. I'm shocked! The company is monitoring the feedback and seems to actually CARE about my satisfaction. But it doesn't end there. The representative offers to mail me another case that might better meet my needs--no additional charge. All I have to do is return the one I'd originally ordered. The new case is mailed out even before I return the original case and arrives in a couple of days. It is EXACTLY what I want. The Anker Folio keyboard case is nicely constructed, solid, works really well (the bluetooth connects automatically when I prop the iPad on the magnetic strip; the keyboard battery lasts for weeks; the function keys allow me to go home or multi-task with a key press, or lock the screen--well laid out). It protects the entire iPad. Not only does it work on a flat surface, but I can use the Ipad on my lap.I am EXTREMELY happy with the case, but I am overwhelmed by the customer care.
