Great mini dehydrator!
This was a requested Christmas gift in 2024 so I have used it for many months. It is a great mini dehydrator with 5 shelves. Probably wouldn’t work for a large family or stocker type person but perfect for the 2 of us and giving some to family. My typical makes are chicken treats for the dogs which they love, spiced dried apples that the grands scarf up for healthy snacks, dried lemons for my hot morning tea. I have also made jerky but it is not my favorite taste but family gave it good reviews. The unit is very quiet which is important since it is in our kitchen in an open floor plan. We can easily watch tv in the same room with it going. It does produce some warm air but it’s a dehydrator! Better than the oven going all day. It surprises me how well it’s dries even in a short time but this my first experience in drying so… All in all the unit works very well and I would definitely repurchase if it lasts well. and it fits perfectly on a shelf unit where I keep my other larger appliances.

Good all-around purchase
Received the dehydrator today and immediately tested it. I have had dehydrators off and on since the 1970s:, big, long ones, tall narrow, tall plastic stackable, and now this one. I prefer this stainless one that has plenty of room between shelves, so food will dry faster and evenly. You can use parchment paper for very small bits like diced cooked chicken breast for the dogs, sprouted grains for the grain mill, or can separately purchase special sheets to lay on top of the trays. The cabinet is just the right size, without trays, to put a bowl in to keep rising dough from air conditioner drafts. I appreciate how quiet it is, too, and it fits under my kitchen cabinets. This was a good buy. The recipes look interesting in the booklet that came with the unit and on mfg. web page.

Go for it, you deserve it.
Well worth the money, bonus it is very quiet. It has six racks to dehydrate on. Amazing on how much stuff you can do at one time, which saves you time. Very easy to use, before you use it for the first time, you put the racks in and turn it on for 30 minutes so that would be the only minimal smell you will get from it. It seems to be very durable. Buy it, you will not regret it. I could kick myself for how many years I put off buying this. Best purchase I’ve made in a very long time. I do recommend buying some silicone sheets/matz to dry your items on. My first load of strawberries in the pictures I used parchment paper. My next batch I did on the silicone sheets. I love them, so easy to remove your items. I bought the ones recommended for this dehydrator, they are 14x14 so no need to cut to size.

I have bought thousands of items off amazon and rarely do I take the time to write a review
Did the Deep Dive in ResearchingLooked at all the other brands, watched youtube videos, etc before I made a purchase, decided on the Cosori 5 Rack max temp 176 degree, bought it, arrived the next day and here are my thoughts. Why I boughtI mainly bought it because I like to make beef jerky, I love beef jerky and most of the store bought jerky has all kinds of preservatives and curing salts things that extend shelf life of the jerky but may cut down on yours...With this 5 rack bundle of joy I can control what is in my jerky, i've made just salt and pepper, marinaded jerky, you name it...absolutely love this thing. The smaller unit has a Jerky button which defaults to a 4 hour cook time at 165 degree temp which you can extend the time(also if you push the jerky button twice it defaults to a lower temp for 8 hours) Again you still have manual controls so you could possible dehydrate something at 176 for 48 hours however i would not advise that, that would probably destroy whatever you were trying to dehydrate and be hard on your dehydrator. But depending on your thickness of your beef you can finish a batch in that 4 hour window or extend your time at a lower temp/sky is the limit. Also I should note I did the calculations on the electricity cost and cost of meat and all that, for me I save about 25% off commercial jerky when it is on sale BUT I control the cuts of meat quality and what goes in it, and that is the value for me...I eat a more carnivore diet so if I were consuming preservative laden beef jerky I am sure it would effect me big time.Big things Small PackageI think they really optimized this smaller unit because, I can get 1.5lbs of jerky in each batch, the 5 rack unit only uses i think around 480 watts max, its just a nice compact unit but can do allot. I was looking at the bigger units before but i really love this one, if i reach capacity i will just buy a second unit rather that going to a larger unit. This is low wattage (but efficiently optimized for use), plenty of size to do all you need.Dog Treats so FarI have all these ambitions to do Vegi Dog Treats but like Dog and Owner my dog loves the beef jerky treats I make for him which are just dried beef no seasoning. I do plan on making dried green beans, dried carrots and sweet potatoes. Just remember I am sure all dog owners know this you have to be very careful what you feed your dogs they cannot under any circumstances have certain foods like garlic, onions, certain fruits, I am sure you are all aware just a PSA for those who were unaware to check out the AKC and others to see what is safe for our furry friends. Anyways I love that great treats are on my dogs horizon (if you have ever seen the back of a Dog Treats label looking at the ingredients) this is much better alternative. The BadsI bought a vacuum sealer at the same time I bought this Cosori to seal my beef jerky for longer term freezer storage....I am afraid it will never get used.Final ThoughtsAgain I do not review things, my time is more valuable to waste writing an essay on something for the good or for the bad. But buy it, you will not regret it, don't walk, run towards getting yours! it's outstanding! Not sure I covered what I plan on trying in it later (zuccini flour so I can sub 1/3 of the flour I make pizza dough, I want to do peppers when they are on sale to make a seasoning, carrot chips, zuccini chips and green beans for snacking, I have heard if you caramelized onions then dehydrate them they make an excellent topper for anything from hamburgers to green bean casserole instead of deep fried onions) Anyways enough of my singing it's praises.

Perfect size/Quiet motor
I love this 6 tray XL dehydrator. It works great. The size is perfect for my herb garden and small home garden. I don’t do jerky so I can’t speak to that. I bought these silicone sheets https://www.amazon.com/Kispog-Silicone-Dehydrator-Compatible-Machine/dp/B09KMXW28G?and they fit perfectly. The keep the trays clean. The fan is nice and quiet. I hardly know it’s running.

Size matters
The primary reason I selected the 5 tray model was the higher heat setting for making jerky. There was not any size dimension for the trays in the listing. I knew they would be smaller but I was shocked at how tiny they are (9x10). Not sure I would’ve bought it if I had known, size matters. It is super quiet. There is not a pause in the settings. Have to reset time and temp after opening the door for checking. The quality of the machine matches all the other models, excellent. Dehydrates as expected according to videos watched. The five trays will hold: 2 lbs of ground beef jerky or 12 oz bag of curly kale or 2 lbs of frozen veggies or 12 oz of shredded cheese. It will take care of my family of 2 needs. If time and size matters, this model isn’t for you.
