BraceAbility The Shoulder Sling - Patented Arm Support Strap and Waterproof Clavicle Immobilizer Brace for Broken Collarbone, Torn Rotator Cuff, Dislocation or AC Separation (Universal)

Had a stroke and my left arm/hand is paralyzed. I have been searching for 2 years to find a comfortable brace that I can put on one handed. I found it!!! I adore the ease and use of this brace and there is no pressure on my neck and the creative, genius design has given me freedom to not worry about my arm falling to the side. I wear it by myself with no help.

When I broke my arm I also dislocated my elbow. I have hEDS and with the wonky position my arm was in when they set it plus the weight of the splint and cast it was messing up my shoulder. Other slings couldn't accommodate the odd angle of my cast or the length of my arm (I'm lanky and my limbs are a bit awkwardly long for my hight). This was by far the best sling I tried, the was another that was good for more stability but unless I was doing something that required me to use that one this was my go-to sling

It is stretchy, a bit too stretchy. When injured, you need to be able to relax into the stabilizer sling. Because this stretches, it motivates activating the muscles of the injured arm. Arm. That can be problematic.Also, because it is so stretchy, The strap has to be tightened to get the wrist in the correct position. I am a big guy (6"1'), and my starting position for wrist at belly button, with no weight is at my collarbone. For actual support while standing, The velcro tab needs to go up over my shoulder almost to my spine.The velcro attachment strap is not easy to position. I do like the pull through arrangement (except for lengthsy above ). But wow!! That velcro is super strong. So pulling it loose takes some effort. If worn over the injured shoulder then the adjustment can be made with my good arm. But due to the difficulty, I can't wear it over the other shoulder.Don't get me wrong, I am continuing to use the device and getting utility out of it but it has limitations. It would be much better if there were a small medium large instead of one size fits all.

I was skeptical about this but it's so cheap that it was worth a go. I'm glad I did. It's much easier to use than a traditional sling. You can pull your hand out and leave it around your neck when you're typing or eating. If you put the top of the strap around the same side of your neck as the damaged arm it holds your hand close to keep it out of trouble. Put it on the other side and you have more freedom of movement. My only complaint is minor, in that it could use a wider and more padded wrist loop.

Little StabilityThe idea is good but it is made of an elastic fabric that does not support your arm. Basically it stretches too much.

I tried this after 2 previous, unsuccessful standard slings, and it is **perfect!** Keeps my elbow at my waist comfortably and prevents reaching up or out with my arm without being constricting. It does not provide much support (which personally I don't need) but gives stability and pain relief. **Easy on and off** Excellent product for those with minimal support needs. I am so happy with this solution!

Impossible to get on my Ot and pt even tried to move the d ring , but concluded the construction was off. Clearly a slapped togethersling . Do not waste your money.
