A Perfect Swap!

These guys don't 1/2 STEP!If you want "GOOD" than your out of your rascillian minds to settle for less!*And if you can afford their BEST, don't get me started on what "your out of" if you don't check-out their "Very-Seriously-Engineered" parts!The proverbial 'bike-part', is in your court now, Laddie. ; )

Very smooth
This is a very well made derailleur for the money. If installed correctly, it will work very smooth and accurately.

I would have given 5 stars but..
The only complaint I have is that several of the allen screws in the unit were loose..not even finger tight. Surprised me. I tightened them up and it installed without issue but a warning to check yours before riding off and having it come apart or something

Very sturdy
A lot sturdier than my original Tourney which literally exploded into the spokes. Easy to install.

Direct replacement for original
Easy to replace. Used YouTube video on Park Tool website to make necessary adjustments for index shifting.

Much Better Than Original On WalMart Bike
My son had a friend lose control and hit the rear derailleur of his Wal-Mart mountain bike. Amazing how much damage that did (very cheap). Fortunately, neither boy was hurt. This derailleur looks much better and after adjusting worked great. We now will be replacing the front derailleur with the same type as we could not get it to adjust properly. It must have been bent slightly. If the front Altus replacement is as good as the rear Altus, he should be very happy on Tuesday!
