Absolutely an excellent tool, used it for the first time to scarify an awful lawn on the highest setting and it worked beautifully. I quickly discarded the collector though as it filled up too quickly. It is much easier to pick up afterwards with a big leaf rake to move into piles and then use garden leaf grabbers. The machine is very easy to use and very quick to scarify the lawn. The only improvement they could make would be to copy what I've got on my 16" Electric Webb lawnmower and that is have a plastic hook either side of the handles low down so that you could wind up the cable afterwards.

I have been debating weather to buy one or hire one of these for a while. With the lawn soft and the moss out of control I bit the bullet and bought this one. The cost of hire meaning that as long as it does 2 seasons I am better off.It did arrive in an oversized box with huge amounts of extra packaging but that's an amazon challenge not the product.It is simple to put together.Now for the tricky bit..... read the instructions. Be gentle at first. I set off with the most gentle of aeration runs and within 4 meters the collection basket was full. I went another meter and it was over full leaving piles of thatch and moss behind. You do need to empty the basket every few meters the first time you use it (well at least I did).It generated so much debris out of the lawn it required a tip run. Slow and steady and it did the whole lawn like a dream. I could imaging though that if you set it to its lowest depth and didn't empty the basket every few meters it could jam up an overheat/ destroy itself in minutes.The machine feels well made and with care should last a good number of years. The three year warranty should give piece of mind too.All round a very good piece of kit.

I am very new to this but after some research I found this to be absolutely amazing and so easy to use. I have laid moss killer twice and scarified the lawn 3 times, each time getting a sizable amount of moss and thatch removed. I have now seeded and layered loam top soil, next to give a good feed and wait for spring.

Good build quality and works well.The only silly drawback is the guys at Hyundai supply a 4mm Allan key to work with a 5mm head doh which is used the exchange the scarifier unit to a rake. Not a problem if you have an Allan key set.Personally the collection box could be larger
