Arctic Air Pure Chill 2.0
If you're deciding to buy or not like I was, here are few points. This is not an A/C. Don't expect it to cool of room or make ski slope snow. It is personal desk fan. Once you accept that, you can decide if you want it. I like it and I'm not disappointed.First let say that evaporative cooling is a myth. It does exist in theory, but in real life is totally inefficient. What you get is a mini humidifier and desk fan with the added benefit of vapor mist. The vapor mist is the part to experiment with. Freezing the filter did not show any help. Keeping it wet is just fine. The reason is that in hot room ice melts right before your eyes. That also applies to water in the reservoir. Standing water warms up rather quick in a hot room and defeats the cooling idea. So the solution that seem to help is filling the reservoir with just enough water to keep it from running dry. Maybe quarter of the tank or less, and keep adding ice instead of water. Seating in front of fan in hot weather feels good, and keeping the water cold makes cooler breeze. You can also put little bottle cap with scent inside the unit and have room freshener. My favorite is peppermint oil. I run it at low since the fan is noisy on high setting and I want just a breeze, not a tornado. When it becomes really hot I turn on A/C, but for spring weather that fluctuates from hot to cold this thing is just fine.

No stated warranty, PureChill will not support their product sold on Amazon
Less than 24 hours after the first unit failed the second of 4 units I purchased failed. This is after less than 60 days use. When I contacted Amazon about the first unit they said they would email instructions for return within 3-4 hours. It has been over 2 days and I have not received anything. Returning a defect item after the normal return period is a not easy. You cannot contact directly a solution. You have to repeat 30 minutes of AI devised shields to discourage you from returning an item. With the second unit failing 50% of the units I purchased failed between 30 & 60 days after purchase.I purchased 4 of these at the end of April and placed them in service the beginning of May. One of the units failed the end of June. The unit no longer powers on and the power supply is shot. I tried the unit with a working power supply from another unit and it would not work. The card shipped with the unit said DO NOT RETURN TO STORE and had instructions to contact PureChill. I tried to email them but the email immediately bounced back .. a bad sign. I called PureChill and a long story short they said since I purchased it on Amazon I was SOL but could try calling Amazon. I searched the box and included materials and no where is there any warranty information. I suppose this means there is no warranty on the product at all. After 10 minutes of digging through Amazon and going around the "outside return date" I got on live chat with a real rep. who offered a refund and the details would be sent in an email with instructions. Thank you Amazon for providing some relief. It is obvious this product was designed for a quick buck for the manufacturer. After 60 days I have a 25% chance of product failure. The 4 units do not operate at the same efficiency. If I started them all at the same time with the same amount of water and the same settings, they drained the water differently. One unit drained to empty while the others took 2-3 hours more to empty. The longer draining units did not cool as well.I cannot recommend this product based on my experience.

OK alternative to humidifier
I got this to put some humidity in the air to help with dry eyes, which it actually does pretty well. And the led lights are kinda neat and you can turn them off if you want. It does create some cool air but it is not able to noticeably cool a room which I expected. The only major problem I have is that it's quite loud even on the lowest setting. Also a ton of the water collects in the bottom and kinda makes a mess. I got it for 10 bucks which is a fair price, it's not worth 30.

3.5 stars
I’d say this is more accurately a 3.5 star productI do like this unit overall. I have tried other misting fans, and what sets this one apart is its design. The mist is released in front of the fan, meaning it is dispersed more evenly and efficiently. This results in noticeably better cooling performance.A competitor’s model I used had the fan placed behind the misting nozzle, which caused the mist to come out in streams. The fan would then blow those streams forward, leading to uneven distribution and more water being sprayed directly outward. In contrast, this unit projects the mist from in front of the fan, which creates a finer, more consistent spread. It is a better experience overall, just not perfect, hence the 3.5.
